    Highly satisfied with Camden care

I placed my mom at Camden and have been very pleased. The nurses, CNAs, therapists, social worker and administration are professional, friendly and attentive; therapy is outstanding, meals are good, and the building is immaculate with plenty of activities. My mom feels safe, well cared for, and I recommend this facility.

    Summary of reviews

Camden Health and Rehabilitation elicits strongly polarized impressions. A persistent strength across reviews is the rehabilitation program: families and clinicians frequently describe highly skilled, intensive physical and occupational therapy, weekend availability, and individualized therapy plans that produce measurable progress. Many reviewers also highlight caring, compassionate front-line staff, well-kept interior spaces, attractive grounds, and a broad menu of activities that support social engagement and family involvement.

Despite those strengths, reviewers describe recurring operational weaknesses that affect day-to-day residential care. The most consistent pattern is staffing variability: nights, weekends and certain shifts are described as understaffed, producing delayed responses to assistance requests and call bells. Those delays are linked to incontinence-care concerns, inconsistent bathing schedules, and longer wait times for toileting and bedside assistance. Several reviews also flagged gaps in wound and complex-skin-care management, medication-timing and documentation issues, and occasional equipment or training shortfalls for safe transfers.

Dining and activities receive mixed but generally positive feedback. Many families praise the variety of meals, dietary accommodations (including low-sodium or texture-progressed diets), regular activities (crafts, bingo, socials), and a family-oriented atmosphere. At the same time, intermittent complaints describe meal-timing problems, cold or delayed trays, and occasional kitchen-cleaning concerns. Facility attributes such as spacious rooms, private bathrooms, and maintained landscaping are commonly cited as positives, while other comments identify room-level maintenance issues (broken fixtures, call-button malfunctions) and localized pest-control concerns.

Management and administrative themes are mixed. Some reviewers report constructive interventions by administrators and a recent leadership-driven turnaround in quality; others describe slow or defensive responses to complaints, inconsistent social-work case management, weak discharge planning (including incomplete equipment arrangements), and billing or insurance-claim delays. A small number of reviews reference serious individual allegations, including concerns following a resident's death and allegations of theft; these items stand apart from the broader patterns and may warrant direct follow-up with regulators or the facility for clarification.

Overall, Camden appears to offer excellent rehabilitative services and a generally pleasant physical environment, but operational inconsistencies — especially around staffing coverage, responsiveness, clinical follow-through for dependent residents, and discharge/billing coordination — create variability in the residential-care experience. Prospective residents and families should evaluate shift-by-shift staffing levels, wound- and incontinence-care protocols, medication-management procedures, and discharge-planning processes during their tour and ask the facility for recent staffing ratios, training practices, and examples of management responses to clinical concerns.

    About Camden Health and Rehabilitation

Camden Health and Rehabilitation sits at 1 Marithe Court in Greensboro, North Carolina, and provides skilled nursing care for people who can't live safely at home anymore, with 24-hour nursing and a physician watching over patient care, and they've got 135 beds in their skilled nursing facility. Folks get help with daily needs like bathing, dressing, eating, and taking medicine, and there's constant care for those who need it, whether for a short rehab stay or long-term living. The staff follows federal rules for Medicare and Medicaid, and they meet Providence Health Plan standards, keeping paperwork up to date every month. Camden's a member of the North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association, and the administrator is Garrett Saake, while a Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing lead the care team.

The facility has private and semi-private rooms, cozy spaces where residents can relax, and a gym with state-of-the-art bathing tubs. There are fitness programs tailored for each person, nutritious meals, and a variety of activities and events to keep people engaged, plus a chapel, a dayroom, a courtyard with a fountain, and other spots for residents to meet with loved ones. Residents receive physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, wound care, and nutritional care through an interdisciplinary team that aims to help people regain independence and confidence. The staff can help in English and sometimes other languages, working together to make sure care plans fit each individual's needs, with departments like Therapy, Activities, Business Office, Admissions & Marketing, and Accounts Payable taking care of daily business.

Camden has both a Skilled Nursing Facility and a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic on-site, along with a no-smoking policy across the campus, and the community works to foster independence and social connections among residents, families, and staff through plenty of daily activities. The facility stores and dispenses medicine safely, and patients' healthcare gets constant attention, though they're not currently taking new admissions. As part of the SanStone community, Camden keeps up a professional, supportive environment for both folks needing rehab and those staying longer term.
