    Filthy facility, negligent care, theft

I placed my mom here and was disappointed by awful food, no activities, pervasive filth (we found bugs in her pillow), and poor medical records with unclear nursing/medication practices. Staff failed to communicate when she fell in the bathroom - she later died - and we also experienced theft by employees and no proper COVID screening. The only solace was that her final resting place was peaceful.

    About Hendersons Assisted Living

Hendersons Assisted Living sits at 74 Lotus Ln in Hendersonville, NC, in Henderson County, and it's a place that's set up for seniors who need different types of help whether they want to stay casual and independent or need more nursing care round-the-clock, since they've got several levels of care including memory care and skilled nursing assistance, and some seniors live in shared residential homes while others have the option of more independent houses or 1- or 2-bedroom apartments, and those homes are modern, with updated interiors, balconies, and neat garden spaces where you'll find flowers, perennials, and even vegetable gardens.

The staff helps with all the daily activities, so folks don't have to worry about bathing, dressing, cooking, managing medicine, or needing extra help if they're moving from a bed to a wheelchair, and staff are there twenty-four hours a day for any emergencies; they also help monitor insulin for anyone with diabetes and provide help for folks with incontinence or who can't get around on their own. Dietary options are broad, so residents can choose vegetarian or Kosher meals, and meals are made by chefs who pay real attention to nutrition, and there's a focus on making meal times easy and enjoyable, with dining rooms set up for good food quality and time to be social.

Hendersons Assisted Living is designed so people with memory issues or dementia can feel safe, since they have secured environments and special programs for those who need support for Alzheimer's or other cognitive changes, and instead of big crowds, smaller group sizes help residents feel connected with caregivers which makes it easier on everyone, especially for folks who prefer a quieter setting. Seniors can take part in ambassador programs to ease new people into the community, and there's always something planned, like Sunday brunches, trips off-site, bingo games in the chapel, movie nights, bridge, and classes. Independent seniors can use exercise areas and hair salons, sit in the library with a book, or browse the internet, and there are always indoor and outdoor sitting spaces, including patios, birdcages, water fountains, and garden spots.

Hendersons Assisted Living offers hospice care if anyone needs it, and also supports long-term stays for those with ongoing care needs or disabilities; it's a continuing care community, so folks can age in place even as their needs change. Residents don't have to worry about maintenance and chores, which gives them more time for activities, relaxing, or joining in community events run by a friendly staff. The facility keeps things environmentally friendly, using paper and reusable cups, and the buildings stay clean and modern. Hendersons Assisted Living welcomes visitors Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and more detailed information is available on their website for anyone wanting to learn about their care or schedule a visit.
