    Compassionate staff gives family peace

I'm very pleased with the compassionate, professional care my mom receives - staff truly treat residents like family. Derrick the CNA, Sara at concierge and Christine in admissions went above and beyond; therapy and activities have been excellent. The building is clean, welcoming and organized, and the team's attentiveness gives me real peace of mind.

    Summary of reviews

The Greens at Lincolnton elicits mixed impressions: many families and residents praise the facility for its compassionate direct-care staff, strong rehabilitation services, and a welcoming, family-like atmosphere, while other accounts describe operational inconsistencies that affect the day-to-day experience. A prominent strength is the rehabilitation program โ€” physical and occupational therapy staff are repeatedly characterized as knowledgeable and effective, and several families reported positive functional gains and timely discharges. Front-desk, concierge, and admissions personnel are frequently described as helpful and proactive, supporting families with paperwork, communication, and bedside liaison work.

Direct-care interactions receive substantial positive feedback: numerous reviewers highlight kind, attentive nurses and CNAs, specific staff members who provide emotional comfort, and staff who go beyond basic duties to engage residents. The facility offers an active programming calendar (bingo, church services, seasonal parties) and generally clean common areas with routine housekeeping and room maintenance. Some families also note that physicians and on-duty nursing leadership are accessible and that communal spaces and dining rooms are comfortable for residents and visitors.

At the same time, the reviews reveal recurring operational weaknesses. Staffing consistency is a central concern: families describe uneven coverage across shifts, distracted or busy staff, and long waits for assistance. These patterns link to medication-management problems (late or missed medications) and delays in responding to call lights or basic care needs. Care quality appears highly dependent on which staff are on shift; variability in caregiver competency and professional conduct โ€” including reports of brusque or unprofessional interactions โ€” is a common theme. Communication and follow-through from nursing leadership and administration are also uneven: some families report responsive management and prompt corrective action, while others describe unkept promises, reassignment of promised staff, and difficulties resolving billing or insurance matters.

Facility appearance and maintenance present a mixed picture. While many reviewers praise cleanliness in primary areas, others cite uneven environmental upkeep โ€” dated dรฉcor, areas in need of repair, and inconsistent condition of furniture and linens. Dining receives both praise and criticism: several reviewers call meals acceptable or good, but others note variability in food quality. Notable safety and clinical concerns appear in a small number of accounts; these include delayed responses to acute needs and serious clinical incidents. Such allegations merit direct inquiry with facility leadership and, where appropriate, follow-up with regulatory authorities.

Overall, The Greens at Lincolnton may be a good fit for residents who can benefit from robust rehabilitation services and who will be supported by engaged family advocates. Prospective residents and families should assess the facilityโ€™s staffing levels and leadership responsiveness for the specific unit and shifts relevant to the resident, ask about medication-administration protocols, review recent inspection or quality records, and arrange a tour during different times of day to observe care consistency and environmental maintenance firsthand.

    About The Greens at Lincolnton

The Greens at Lincolnton sits at 515 South Generals Blvd in Lincolnton, North Carolina, and offers care for people who need both short-term rehab and long-term nursing, as well as those who are frail and depend on regular nursing support, with 117 skilled nursing facility beds and about 97 residents each day, so you'll see activity but not feel overwhelmed. This place has several care types, like independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, adult care home services, and different therapy services meant to help folks recover or adjust, with a Concierge Program for more personal care touches, where staff try to give people as much help as they need. Residents have access to a variety of services and amenities, including big common areas, wide hallways that are easy to get around, and social programs that aim to keep folks busy and connected with each other.

While The Greens at Lincolnton aims to give quality care and is part of the North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association, inspection reports do show 19 different deficiencies, including one infection-related issue and specific problems with resident rights-they haven't always been clear about Medicaid or Medicare coverage and possible costs, and they've had trouble providing all the needed social services to help people reach the best quality of life they can. Nurse turnover here is high at 60.3%, but there are about 3.82 nursing hours for each resident per day, so people generally get attention when needed, and the staff is experienced, even if some come and go.

The place is led by administrator Todd Klingbiel and is listed as a Great Place to Workยฎ certified workplace, which some may find reassuring. The Greens at Lincolnton has made the building more welcoming with things like an accessible website, options to adjust text size or use high contrast for those with vision problems, and created a Compliance Hotline for residents or family to raise concerns. Folks can move in for short-term stays or stay long-term, and the staff helps with home care and hospice services when needed. Therapy services hope to help people recover and adjust, and there are amenities for comfort and a bit of companionship, but it's worth noting that the reports highlight a real need for improvements in how they handle paperwork and offer social services. The focus here is on meeting different needs with practical, hands-on care, and trying to give comfort and help where they can, while being open about what they offer and what needs work.
