    Kind skilled staff restored independence

My husband stayed at Raleigh Rehabilitation Center after a stroke and we had a very positive experience. The staff were kind, skilled, and collaborative - nurses, CNAs and therapists were knowledgeable, attentive, and quick to respond to call bells. Care was compassionate and thorough (bathing/meals), the food was good, and our large, sunny room and bathroom were clean. Rehab and therapy genuinely helped him regain independence, discharge planning and casework were helpful, and Danielle Morgan and Jackie were clear and proactive. Nursing leadership (Angie) was communicative and reassuring - we felt safe, informed, and supported throughout. I'm grateful for the team and would recommend this facility.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews for this facility present a mixed portrait. A substantial set of comments praise clinical strengths — notably a robust therapy program, experienced wound-care clinicians, and a number of nurses and CNAs described as attentive and compassionate. Several families highlighted quick physician access, on-site specialty services (podiatry, dental, optometry, psychology), modern therapy equipment, and a proactive social-work and discharge-planning team. Administrative leadership is frequently described as visible and engaged in improving care and communication in a number of accounts.

At the same time, there are recurring operational concerns that prospective residents and families should evaluate carefully. Staffing levels and turnover are uneven: reviewers described both strong, dedicated staff and frequent periods of understaffing. Related patterns include delayed responses to call lights and requests, limited capacity to manage higher-acuity patients, and variability in how consistently basic care tasks are completed. Several comments raised issues about medication administration and monitoring, and there are accounts describing inconsistent infection-control and PPE practices.

Environmental services and dining also show a split pattern. Positive reports note clean, well-maintained areas and ample covered parking, while other reviewers described sanitation concerns, pest-control concerns in some units, inconsistent housekeeping, lapses in laundry and personal-property management, and uneven meal quality and dining hygiene. Communication infrastructure is another operational gap for some families: limited in-room phone access, unreliable Wi‑Fi, and variable follow-up on calls and evaluations were noted.

Management and culture present mixed signals. Some reviewers credit hands-on administrators and proactive staff who provide clear updates, insurance assistance, and compassionate family support. Others described management turnover, breakdowns in follow-through, and concerns about accountability after serious incidents; there are also isolated allegations of staff theft and property loss that families reported. The building itself is described as centrally located with an upscale setting and some modern therapy amenities, but it is an older facility with areas that reviewers felt need repair or upgrade.

In summary, the facility demonstrates real clinical strengths—particularly in rehabilitation, wound care, and family-centered coordination—but also displays operational inconsistencies that have patient-safety and quality-of-life implications. Prospective residents and families should balance the facility’s therapy and clinical capabilities against reported variability in staffing, sanitation, medication and safety practices, and management stability. Recommended pre-admission steps include an unannounced or extended tour, questions about current staffing ratios and fall-prevention protocols, review of infection-control and medication-administration policies, and clarification of laundry/property controls and communication access for families.
