    Welcoming well-maintained family-style senior community

I toured the beautiful, well-maintained campus and felt immediately welcomed by professional, caring staff. With private rooms, excellent rehab/therapy, delicious meals, lots of activities (and visiting animals), and many thoughtful amenities across a lovely 125-acre setting, I'd highly recommend this family-style community.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the reviews is largely positive with clear strengths in facilities, therapy services, dining, and communal life, but there are consistent and meaningful concerns around staff consistency and some personal-care lapses.

Facility and environment: Multiple reviewers highlight that Logan Acres is clean, up-to-date, and well maintained. The campus is described as beautiful and spacious (one reviewer mentions 125 acres), with a nice outdoor park and pleasant layout. The building is called beautiful and relaxing by several reviewers. Private rooms are noted repeatedly, which is a strong positive for resident privacy and comfort. Amenity-wise, the community offers a spa room, therapy spaces, congregate dining, and separate dining areas per hall — all of which contribute to a resort-like, organized layout that many families appreciated.

Therapy and clinical services: A dominant theme is very positive feedback on rehabilitation and physical therapy. Multiple summaries call the therapy program “second to none” or “the best,” and several reviewers specifically recommend the rehab experience. The presence of specialized therapy amenities and staff competence in rehabilitation stands out as a central strength of Logan Acres and is cited as a primary reason families recommend the community.

Staff and caregiving: Reports about staff are mixed and represent the most significant area of concern. Many reviewers praise the staff as friendly, compassionate, professional yet playful, and treating residents like family. However, a notable number of reviews describe inconsistent behavior — some staff are characterized as rude or disrespectful, and reviewers complained about mixed care quality across different workers or shifts. Several specific incidents point to lapses in routine caregiving: poor responsiveness to calls or needs, a lack of regular staff check-ins beyond meal delivery, and troubling personal-care issues (examples include residents left in soiled clothing or dirty hospital gowns, and concerns about incontinence care). Administrative errors such as wrong names on food forms were also mentioned. Taken together, these comments suggest variability in training, supervision, or staffing stability that impacts resident experience.

Dining, activities, and social programming: Food quality and dining experiences are generally praised — multiple reviewers say the food is high-quality and appealing. The community structure (congregate dining plus hall-specific dining areas) seems to support social engagement. Reviewers also mention an active calendar of community activities and enrichment, including animal visits (dogs, fish, birds) that many found enjoyable for residents. Overall, social life, activities, and meals are frequently cited as positive contributors to resident well-being.

Patterns and recommendations for prospective families: The reviews paint a picture of a facility with excellent physical plant, strong rehab services, attractive amenities, and generally warm staff—but with variability in day-to-day caregiving and responsiveness. The positives (therapy excellence, clean/up-to-date facility, private rooms, good food, active programming) are consistent across many reviewers. The negatives cluster around inconsistent staff behavior, lapses in personal-care tasks, and occasional administrative mistakes. Prospective families should consider touring the property (several reviewers reported excellent in-person tours) and directly asking about staff-to-resident ratios, staff training and supervision, laundry and personal-care protocols, how dietary preferences and resident names are verified, and whether specific rooms are close enough to dining and activity areas for residents with limited mobility. Verifying current staff turnover rates and recent managerial steps to address reported lapses could help resolve the mixed reports about caregiving consistency.

In summary, Logan Acres appears to offer a strong, amenity-rich environment with standout rehabilitation services and many satisfied families, but with a nontrivial set of reports pointing to inconsistent caregiving and responsiveness that warrant careful probing during any decision-making process.

    About Logan Acres Senior Community

Logan Acres Senior Community sits on a peaceful campus in Logan County, offering both The Care Center and The Homestead with services for different senior needs such as long-term care, memory care, assisted apartment living, and therapy. The facility uses neighborhoods named Willow Creek, Rush Creek, Stoney Creek, and Mill Creek, and those sections help residents feel familiar and safe, especially for those needing memory care with staff trained each year to help with Alzheimer's or dementia. The Homestead has 24 one- and two-bedroom apartments, each with private baths, walk-in showers, and large windows to let in plenty of natural light; residents can decorate these spaces as they like and there's lots of room with 600 to 891 square feet. Care is available all day and night, and the staff includes an administrator, director of maintenance, director of nursing, and special resident care managers who tailor help for each person, so routines fit residents' wishes and needs, with plenty of help for things like bathing, eating, daily activities, and flexible meal and sleep schedules. The campus feels homey with outdoor gardens, sunrooms, color-coded hallways for easier navigation, and areas to sit and enjoy the seasons. Residents at Logan Acres get meals with help for special diets and can eat in their rooms if they want, and families can visit regularly. The building stays secure but welcoming, with emergency call systems, hallway entrances, and private rooms for everyone. There's laundry and maintenance service, exercise areas, a salon, devotional chapel, and therapy rooms where physical, occupational, and speech therapy happens right in the apartment if needed. People can join raised bed gardening, educational classes, or join trips out in the community, plus chapel services and a full activity schedule to help them stay social. Nursing care and medication help run around the clock, medication and therapy schedules fit each resident's needs, and there's no overhead paging unless it's an emergency. Logan Acres focuses on dignity, independence, and privacy, offering a choice when it comes to daily routines, meal times, bathing times, and visiting. The community has a long history, dating back to 1849, and today keeps working to make each person's life feel comfortable, flexible, and safe, with hospice and palliative care options for those who need more support. Staff try to offer friendly reminders, communication systems, and transportation when needed, as well as support for families from the start. The Logan County Commissioners oversee the facility, and the setting feels relaxing and a bit upscale but still practical for everyday living.
