    Welcoming active community, exceptional care

I moved in recently and I'm very happy with the welcoming, caring staff and the impeccably maintained campus. The apartments are roomy and being renovated, there are abundant activities and excursions, and the dining options (and pool, gym, woodworking shop and library) make it easy to stay active and social. Move-in was smooth and the team (Jen and Neil among others) made finances and transitions painless. Overall a safe, friendly community where I feel well cared for and glad I chose to live here.

    Summary of reviews

The overall impression of Riverstone at Friendship Village of Dublin across the collected summaries is of a well-resourced, amenity-rich campus with many strengths alongside several operational inconsistencies prospective residents should evaluate. Strengths repeatedly cited include meticulous grounds maintenance, extensive wellness and recreational infrastructure (notably an Olympic-size indoor pool, multiple fitness centers, and a woodworking shop), and a wide range of communal spaces such as a library and several dining venues. The community offers a clear continuum of care with in-building therapy services and a memory-care option, plus multiple apartment sizes and ongoing renovation activity in many units.

Staff and care experience are central themes. Many families and residents describe staff as compassionate, patient, and highly engaged: move-in coordination, marketing/sales counselors, and health-and-wellness navigators are singled out for helpfulness and thorough guidance. Several reviews note smooth transitions into the community, strong onboarding processes, and continuing responsiveness from named staff. At the same time, there are repeated indications of operational variability: some reviewers report slow response times from aides, inattentive service during peak times, and uneven quality in clinical or rehabilitation services. There are also a number of serious concerns about staff conduct and resident privacy that prospective families should take seriously and discuss directly with leadership.

Dining and activities are clear selling points but with mixed feedback. The community’s four dining venues and frequent programming are often praised — including organized trips, abundant classes, and special offerings such as brunch — which many residents find socially enriching. However, assessments of meal quality are inconsistent: some describe top-tier dining, while others find food underseasoned or average. Because dining is delivered across multiple venues with different menus and service models, quality appears variable by location and time of day.

Facility condition and scale bear consideration. The campus is large and well-maintained overall, and many reviewers enjoy the gardens, pool, and outdoor spaces. That scale, however, can feel institutional or overwhelming to some residents; a few comments mention claustrophobic hallways and older buildings that are still awaiting renovation. Apartment features vary — many units are described as spacious and well-appointed, while some unit types offer limited private outdoor space such as small or absent balconies.

Management, contracts, and finances present another mixed picture. Sales and marketing personnel receive frequent praise for professionalism and supportive guidance, and many residents express confidence in the staff. Conversely, reviewers flagged perceived emphasis on revenue (entrance fees and monthly charges), occasional short-staffing under new management, and opaque or complex refund/fee policies. Prospective residents should therefore review contract terms carefully and confirm which services and meals are included in monthly fees.

Taken together, Riverstone offers a high-amenity campus with strong social and wellness programming and many instances of attentive, compassionate staff. However, there is notable variability in day-to-day operational execution — especially around dining consistency, some clinical/rehab services, staff responsiveness, and certain aspects of management and contract clarity. Prospective residents and families would benefit from targeted follow-up during tours: observe meal service in the specific dining venue you would use, ask for unit-level renovation timelines, request staffing ratios for care units of interest, review written privacy and conduct policies, and obtain a clear, itemized explanation of contract fees and refund terms before deciding.
