    Spacious clean attentive compassionate care

I'm very satisfied with this beautiful, clean, home-like community - spacious, well-decorated apartments, large common areas, and 24-hour professional care. The staff (Mason, Paige, Angela and the nursing team) are attentive, compassionate and responsive; meals, activities and memory-care services are excellent, and the pricing is reasonable - I'd recommend it for long-term care.

    Summary of reviews

Traditions of Hilliard is frequently described as a bright, modern community with strong physical amenities and an active social program. The campus design, large public spaces, and contemporary decor are repeatedly praised; reviewers cite spacious, well-appointed apartments, multiple common areas (theater, bistro, fitness, salon), and pleasant outdoor spaces such as courtyards and a putting green. The community offers a continuum of services and conveniences—on-site therapy and medical staff, hospice services, in-room laundry options, regular transportation for shopping and outings, and pet-friendly policies—which appeals to families seeking long-term placement and an engaged lifestyle for residents.

Care and staff performance show a mixed but distinct pattern. Many families and residents describe compassionate, personable caregivers, attentive nursing and therapy staff, and a generally warm, home-like atmosphere. There are also repeated accounts of improvement under new clinical leadership, with some observers noting restored trust and better follow-through. However, a recurring operational theme is inconsistent staffing and coverage, especially on night shifts and during high-demand periods. That inconsistency has been associated with delayed responses to call buttons, inconsistent bathing and personal-care schedules, and occasional medication-administration gaps. Prospective families should weigh the community’s strong interpersonal culture against the variability in day-to-day caregiving reliability.

Dining and activities are overall strengths but show variability by neighborhood. Many reviewers compliment the variety of menu options, themed meals, and pleasant dining areas; activities programming—exercise classes, outings, theater events, and resident-led groups—receives consistent praise for engagement and variety. At the same time, reviewers note inconsistent dining execution in some areas (notably the memory-care neighborhood) and operational changes such as reduced dining hours or long service wait times that affect meal experience for some residents. Food preferences (sweet desserts, desire for more vegetables) are specific points of feedback rather than universal complaints.

Facility operations and administration present the clearest concerns. Multiple comments reference confusing or disorganized move-in and documentation processes, slow or disputed refunds, and billing or invoicing errors. Housekeeping and laundry services are described as uneven—cleanliness is generally good in public areas but some families experienced delayed or inconsistent room cleaning and laundry turnaround. Safety-related weaknesses were raised in a few accounts, including inadequate supervision of exits and concerns about transportation-driver conduct; there are also serious allegations involving theft and medication misappropriation that merit careful inquiry during a tour and review of the community’s incident history.

Overall impression: Traditions of Hilliard offers an attractive, amenity-rich environment with many demonstrable strengths in atmosphere, activities, and clinical supports such as therapy and hospice. Yet operational inconsistencies—staffing stability, medication and billing controls, housekeeping logistics, and certain safety and supervision practices—appear frequently enough to recommend targeted questions for prospective residents and families. Recommended pre-admission checks include asking about current staffing ratios and recent staffing changes, policies and audits for medication handling and valuables, housekeeping and laundry turnaround expectations, dining schedules for the specific care neighborhood, and financial/refund terms for short-term stays. These focused inquiries will help families balance the community’s evident strengths with the operational areas that have been the source of concern.

    About Traditions of Hilliard

Traditions of Hilliard offers seniors a place to live with care choices like independent living, assisted living, memory care, and home care, and you've got options for everything from a private studio to one- and two-bedroom apartments with kitchenettes, individual climate control, and most units having their own washer and dryer-there's a sense of home here, with a fireplace lounge, a well-stocked library with computers, movie theater, and a fitness and therapy center, plus regular housekeeping and laundry so things stay tidy. They don't allow pets like cats or dogs, but the place puts focus on activities and dining, so you'll find about anything from painting and poker to Laughter Yoga®, poetry, Zumba Gold®, and time spent talking about current events, all designed to keep folks active. There's an executive chef who plans menus for restaurant-style meals in an elegant dining room, and you can always grab a bite at the European-style bistro too, and you can even join your neighbors anytime during dining hours, which is a nice touch.

The assisted living staff provides help with daily needs like bathing, dressing, and medication reminders, and they stay on site around the clock, so there's always someone there if needed, and memory care is set up for people who might have Alzheimer's or dementia, with a care team trained to give personal attention and activities for cognitive health, along with short-term memory care for respite stays. The community offers independent living too, with full-time activity directors, regular field trips, a beauty salon, Wi-Fi, and handicap accessibility. They offer both meal preparation in apartments with kitchenettes and meals served in the communal dining areas, plus personal care plans that match each person's needs, and you'll find social programs and activity logs to keep track of how you spend your time. Home care is available with partners like Cornerstone Caregiving and Always Neighbors Home Care. Amenities cover every day needs, from scheduled tours if you want to look around, to a photo gallery for virtual visits, to a privacy center outlining data policies, as well as voting information and easy access to social media tools-Facebook, Messenger, and more-which seems to appeal to folks who like to stay connected. You'll also see recognition as a Past SeniorAdvisor.com and Best of Senior Living award recipient, with the Ohio Department of Aging certifying their assisted living. All care is planned with a holistic view-mind, body, and spirit-focusing on good nutrition, fellowship, wellness, and independence. Published prices and monthly ranges are available for different room types, and if you're thinking about a stay, you can schedule a tour to get a look at dining, apartment layouts, and the way daily life carries on in this small-town setting.
