    Compassionate staff and excellent rehab

I placed my dad here and have been very pleased. The staff are compassionate and went above and beyond - therapy and rehab were outstanding and he recovered well. The recently remodeled facility feels like home, with great food, choice menus, lots of daily activities (bingo, movies, crafts, outings), veteran-friendly events, and private/semi-private rooms with TV/WiFi and nice views. Admission was smooth, management is responsive, and the CMS five-star rating reassured me - I felt he was in excellent hands and would recommend this center.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews for Presidential Post Acute present a polarized picture: many families and residents describe strong, compassionate caregiving and effective clinical services, while others raise significant operational concerns that affected care continuity and family confidence. Positive experiences highlight an engaged therapy department, successful rehabilitation outcomes, and staff who go beyond basic duties to comfort residents. The facility's recent renovations, scenic grounds, private‑suite options, and veteran programming are frequently cited as meaningful advantages. The center also appears to offer a broad activities calendar — bingo, movies, crafts, cooking classes, live entertainment and off‑site outings — contributing to a home‑like, family atmosphere for many residents.

At the same time, a recurring operational theme is staffing and consistency. Multiple reviewers described inadequate staffing levels and inconsistent professionalism, which they linked to delayed responses to call lights and emergencies, inconsistent medication handling, and uneven attention during personal care. There are specific concerns about medication‑administration controls (including dosing errors and withheld medications), gaps in incident documentation, and situations where family communication about clinical events was insufficient. A few accounts reference serious events and concerns following a resident's death and other critical incidents; these underline the need for reliable emergency response protocols and clearer documentation.

Dining and housekeeping impressions are mixed. Several reviewers praised the variety of menus and enjoying meals, while others cited inconsistent food quality, instances of cold or poorly prepared dishes, and occasions when the posted menu was not followed. Laundry and personal‑property handling emerged as a repeated operational weakness: missing clothing and management of donated items contributed to family frustration. Physical accommodations receive both praise and critique — private suites and renovated public spaces are positives, but some residents and visitors find standard rooms small and somewhat cramped.

Management and communications show a similar split. Some families report smooth admissions, responsive management, and resolved complaints. Others describe difficulties reaching staff by phone, unresponsive social‑services contacts, restricted or poorly explained visitation policies, billing disputes, and allegations of dishonest advertising or financial mismanagement. Therapy quality is another mixed area: while several reviews describe impressive, effective rehabilitation, others call out arrogance or inconsistent therapy outcomes.

For prospective residents and families: the facility offers notable strengths in therapy, activities, veteran services, and certain accommodations, and it has received high ratings in some domains. However, the pattern of concerns around staffing levels, emergency response, medication controls, property handling, and communication suggests that families should directly inquire about current staffing ratios, incident‑reporting procedures, medication safety protocols, laundry/property policies, and visitation rules during tours. Asking for recent state inspection results, clarifying how clinical incidents are documented and communicated, and speaking with the therapy team about expected rehabilitation timelines can help set expectations and mitigate risk.

    About Presidential Post Acute

Presidential Post Acute sits in the skilled nursing facility category and offers both short and long-term care, and you'll find they focus a good bit on post-acute services with rehabilitation, therapy, and skilled nursing around the clock, so if you're recovering from surgery or illness you may end up there for a bit. The place is managed by Shannon Kellogg since July 2019 and runs under the Pacs Group, with Trinity Health Plan included, run as a for-profit setup, and there's a staff led by healthcare professionals who aim to provide personalized care depending on doctor's orders, patient preferences, and whatever goals the patient and their family may have. Now, the facility has a licensed capacity for 99 certified beds and on average houses about 92 residents each day, and nurse staffing levels work out to about 2.83 nurse hours per resident per day, though nurse turnover is on the higher side at 40.3%. Residents get care for physical, occupational, and speech therapy in a big rehab gym built to help folks get back on their feet or return home, and skilled nursing services are available at all hours, and you'll hear about chef-like cooks preparing meals meant to be tasty as well as nutritious, though there've been some reported deficiencies in the past about adequate food, fluids, and meeting nutrition requirements, and general citations involving proper care and quality of life, which is worth noting. The place claims to center its attention on safety, comfort, wellness, and recovery for the people staying there, and you'll find typical nursing home amenities, but there isn't a lot of public detail on what those actually are. Despite some issues that have been cited in official reports, CMS has given Presidential Post Acute a 5-star rating, and Newsweek recognized it as one of the Best Nursing Homes of 2025, so opinions can be mixed, but if you walk through you'll find a facility with rehab, skilled nursing, all-hours care, and various features meant to support healing and daily life, and if you want a peek before you go they do have a virtual photo tour and overview video.
