    Warm professional care highly recommended

I placed my mom here and have been very pleased. The staff are caring, patient, and consistently go above and beyond-Olivia, Stephanie Parker, Ali Weharman and Kelly really stood out. Move-in was personalized and smooth, communications were timely and reassuring, and the app kept our family updated. The apartment and public spaces are beautiful and very clean, the homemade meals are excellent, and the activity director runs a lively, inclusive calendar that keeps residents engaged. Overall a warm, professional, hotel-like community where my mom is well cared for and happy.

    Summary of reviews

Montage Mason is widely described as a modern, well-appointed community with strong environmental and lifestyle features. Reviewers commonly praised the facility’s hotel-like design, bright public spaces, private apartment layouts with kitchenettes, and outdoor garden. On-site amenities such as a theater, library, gym, and private dining areas were noted positively, and several accounts highlighted attentive move-in coordination and housekeeping services that contribute to a welcoming first impression.

Clinical and caregiving strengths include an active rehabilitation program (on-site OT/PT), an engaged activities staff, and many families reporting compassionate and responsive nursing and caregiving personnel. The dining program receives frequent praise for varied menus and chef-prepared options, and the community’s activity calendar—led by a proactive activities director—is often cited as a meaningful contributor to resident engagement and quality of life. For residents needing short-term rehab or assisted living-level care, the combination of therapy services, communal programming, and a supportive physical environment is a recurring positive theme.

At the same time, a number of operational concerns appear repeatedly. Staffing consistency is a prominent issue: reviewers describe periods of short staffing and a reliance on temporary agency personnel, which can affect continuity of care. Related to staffing, several comments indicate variable training and preparedness to manage advanced dementia or challenging behavioral needs; families considering memory care should assess behavioral-management protocols and staff training. Medication management and delivery processes were another recurring concern, with reviewers noting errors and missed deliveries in some cases.

Housekeeping and sanitation practices are generally described as good overall but uneven in application; some families reported inconsistent room cleaning or incontinence-care follow-through. Communication and billing practices also show variability—while many families described timely, reassuring updates and good use of family apps, others reported delayed responses, billing inaccuracies, or mismatches between expected and delivered services. A subset of reviewers associated a perceived decline in day-to-day quality with an ownership transition, and there are accounts of inconsistent infection-control policy enforcement during COVID-era events; prospective families should verify current protocols and recent operational changes.

Memory-care programming receives mixed feedback: when leadership is actively involved, families describe organized, meaningful daily activities and good communication; where staffing or training gaps exist, reviewers report less consistent evening routines and limited engagement. In short, Montage Mason’s physical environment, dining, and many aspects of daily life are clear strengths, while continuity of clinical care and operational consistency (staffing, medication processes, housekeeping, and management stability) are areas to review closely.

If you are considering Montage Mason, an in-person visit and targeted questions are advisable. Ask about current staffing ratios and turnover, use of agency personnel, dementia-specific staff training and behavior-management protocols, medication-administration controls, housekeeping schedules, infection-control policies, and recent changes following any ownership transition. These checks will help determine whether the community’s strong amenities and programming align with your loved one’s clinical and day-to-day needs.

    About Montage Mason

Montage Mason sits in Mason, Ohio, and is a nonprofit senior living community that used to be known as Anthology of Mason, and the place tries to make a welcoming, home-like environment for all its residents, whether they're in independent living, assisted living, or memory care. There are 68 assisted living units and 33 memory care units, and the assisted living apartments and memory care services include private, spacious floor plans in studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts, with options from 418 to 777 square feet for assisted living, and 287 to 401 square feet for memory care, so folks can pick what feels best for them. The monthly rates cover things like mortgage or rent, property tax, insurance, and both inside and outside maintenance, so there's a bit less to worry about, and there's a one-time entrance fee called a community fee, plus care fees in assisted living that get checked and set each year depending on individual needs, and in memory care, the monthly rate covers all care needs without extra surprises. There's a Life Care Promise that says care will go on even if finances become a worry, and that helps some families sleep easier at night. The campus has open, bright common spaces like the grand parlor, bar, and bistro, and you'll find beautifully landscaped grounds with gardens and walking paths, so residents can get outside and enjoy fresh air, and inside, there are spots for games and social events that keep folks busy and connected. The dining room serves chef-prepared meals, which are both nutritious and healthy, and there are special dining experiences for everybody, no matter what kind of support they need, because the culinary team knows how important mealtime is. Montage Mason tries to keep things lively with activities, special outings, and programs that help people stay as active and engaged as they want, and memory care residents have something called the TouchPoint Sensory Memory Care program, which uses different senses to help reach deep memories, which is important for those who need it. The staff provides 24-hour help, and the community offers real-time status updates, plus eldercare consulting, family coaching and meetings, general counseling, advocacy, and peace of mind visits, and you won't find many places offering the Beyond Driving with Dignity program nationally like they do here. Overall, Montage Mason brings together several types of care, tries to keep things as simple and stress-free as possible, and focuses on helping residents and their families feel supported, all while making the campus feel friendly and open to all.
