    Compassionate care and effective therapy

I received compassionate, attentive care from friendly, hardworking nursing and therapy teams in a clean, recently remodeled building. Staff greeted me, my room was ready and made, communication was good, and the therapy (PT/OT) really helped-I would recommend this facility.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews present a highly mixed picture of Edwards Redeemer Nursing Center, with clear strengths in therapy and several concerns about basic operations and oversight. Positive commentary centers on the rehabilitation team and certain direct-care staff: reviewers describe hardworking, compassionate caregivers and an effective outpatient/therapy program. The facility appears to allow residents to personalize rooms and to rely on residentsโ€™ own electronics, which some families appreciate; reviewers also note indications of improvement in the therapy department.

Care quality and safety are the most recurrent areas of concern. Several accounts describe inconsistent medication administration and gaps in clinical oversight, including instances when prescribed medications were not administered as expected. There are also noted safety and transfer-practice weaknesses, with at least one account of an injury during transfer. These operational weaknesses suggest the need for clearer clinical protocols, improved staff training on transfers and medication policies, and stronger supervision.

Staffing and conduct are described inconsistently. While some reviewers praise compassionate, helpful staff and specific employees in therapy, others describe unprofessional behavior, poor communication tone, loud or disruptive interactions in common areas, and intake staff who were perceived as rude. Multiple comments emphasize a lack of visible staff presence at entry points or on rounds, indicating potential staffing-coverage or workflow issues that affect responsiveness.

Facilities and amenities drew specific complaints about in-room offerings and cleanliness. Reviewers note that the facility does not provide standard in-room phones or televisions, requiring families to supply those items and arrange service. There are also sanitation- and odor-related concerns reported in common areas, which point to opportunities to strengthen housekeeping and environmental controls.

Management, compliance, and administrative processes raise additional flags. The facility has a history of regulatory compliance problems that reviewers referenced, and several accounts mention billing disputes, unpaid work claims, and even allegations of theft or financial misconduct. Privacy and HIPAA-practice gaps were also cited, suggesting the need for improved confidentiality training and protocols. Intake and customer-service interactions are noted as problematic by multiple families, indicating that front-line administrative processes may need review.

Dining and activities were not extensively discussed in the available summaries, so there is limited evidence to assess meal quality or programming consistency. Given the broader concerns about staffing, clinical oversight, and housekeeping, prospective residents and families should ask targeted questions about dining services and activity schedules during a visit.

Overall, prospective families should consider an in-person tour, ask to review recent inspection findings and corrective-action plans, and request specifics about medication administration protocols, staffing ratios, transfer-training procedures, privacy safeguards, and financial-accounting practices. While there are documented strengthsโ€”especially in therapy services and examples of caring staffโ€”the facility displays operational and compliance weaknesses that warrant careful, specific inquiry before placement.

    About Edwards Redeemer Nursing Center

Edwards Redeemer Nursing Center sits at 1530 NE Grand Blvd in Oklahoma City, OK, and works as a nursing home for seniors who need help with everyday tasks or have health conditions needing close care, and although there's not a lot of unique public information about the place itself, you will find that this community does provide short- and long-term nursing care, memory care for Alzheimer's or dementia, assisted living, and personal care services, all in a setting where someone's always there, as they have 12 to 16 hour nursing staffing with 24-hour call system supervision, and daily support with things like bathing, dressing, getting around, and medication management. Residents have studio units, most of them coming with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, air-conditioning, cable, and Wi-Fi, and the rooms are usually furnished so that folks can get settled in quickly, plus there's housekeeping and linen service available to help keep things tidy. Meals are served restaurant-style, with menus designed for different needs, including people with diabetes or special diets, so no one has to worry about cooking, and plenty of activities fill the week-both events run by staff and the residents themselves, along with planned outings and daily routines, giving people a way to stay involved or just relax if they want. The building has fitness and wellness centers, activity and gaming rooms, a small library and computer center, and outdoor areas such as gardens and places to sit and enjoy the view, and you'll often see people making use of the cozy sitting spots or taking part in group exercises and memory-focused programs. The location is in a neighborhood where everything's nearby, from hospitals, drug stores, and banks, to dining, grocery, coffee shops, and marketplaces, so family or friends coming by don't have far to go for errands or a bite to eat. The staff helps out with transportation for both medical and personal appointments, and provides move-in coordination and concierge services, plus there are peaceful gardens and walkways that make it a pretty pleasant place when the weather's nice. The facility, associated with Paracor, follows rules for nurse staffing and health inspections, and offers several levels of care, including help for people living with memory loss, while focusing on helping everyone keep their independence and dignity as much as possible, so even if the center itself isn't widely written about, it's one of the options for seniors needing skilled nursing or memory care in Oklahoma City.
