    Warm professional staff and service

I toured the facility and was very pleased. Lucy and Lucah and the rest of the staff were down-to-earth, warm, and professional-my family loved the care. The tour was thorough, staff answered every question, and online bill transfer was easy. I would recommend this welcoming place.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment in the provided reviews for Country Living Adult Care Home is strongly positive. Multiple reviewers emphasize excellent care — described as "phenomenal" and "terrific" — and consistently give top ratings (5 stars). The dominant theme is that residents receive attentive, high-quality care and families feel comfortable and satisfied with the treatment their loved ones receive. Reviewers explicitly recommend the facility, indicating a high degree of overall satisfaction and trust.

Staff performance and interpersonal qualities are clear strengths. Reviewers repeatedly call the staff professional, communicative, and "family people," and they single out individuals by name (Lucy and Lucah) as examples of the caring, family-like approach. Praise for staff includes being attentive during tours, thorough in answering questions, and maintaining good ongoing communication with families. This points to strong front-line caregiving and positive family interactions, both important factors for families evaluating senior living options.

Operational conveniences were also noted positively: an "online bill transfer" option is specifically mentioned as easy to use. This suggests the facility has invested in straightforward billing/payment technology that families appreciate. Additionally, multiple comments about the tour experience — welcoming, down-to-earth, thorough, and attentive to questions — imply that the admissions and orientation process is handled well, leaving prospective residents and families with a favorable impression.

There is one specific and recurring concern mentioned in the summaries: the billing policy around a resident’s death mid-month is described as unclear, particularly whether the facility charges the full monthly amount in that circumstance. This is the only concrete negative point across the reviews. While the facility appears strong in care and communication, ambiguity in a sensitive area like end-of-life billing can cause stress for families during already difficult times. Clarifying this policy in writing and proactively communicating it during intake and in the family handbook would likely reduce confusion and potential dissatisfaction.

Several common review categories are not addressed in the summaries supplied. There is no specific feedback about the physical facilities (cleanliness, room sizes, common areas), medical/delivery specifics (medication management, clinical oversight), dining quality, scheduled activities or social programming, or pricing beyond the single billing-policy concern. Because these areas are unmentioned, a prospective family should either request more information or observe these aspects on a tour to fill gaps not covered by these reviews.

In summary, Country Living Adult Care Home earns strong marks for compassionate, family-oriented care delivered by professional, communicative staff who make a positive impression during tours and ongoing interactions. The facility appears to offer convenient billing technology and a welcoming environment noted repeatedly by reviewers. The primary actionable issue is clarifying and communicating the billing policy around partial-month charges in the event of a resident’s death — addressing that would align operational transparency with the otherwise high levels of trust and satisfaction reflected in these reviews. Overall, the reviews portray Country Living as a recommended, high-rated option for families seeking attentive, personable care.

About Country Living Adult Care Home

Country Living Adult Care Home, also called Good Shepherd Manor, sits at 1493 Shepherd Rd in Washougal, WA, and also at 9714 SE Ladera Ct in Damascus, OR, and if you're looking for both a country setting and care that fits individual needs, you'll find this place pays attention to those things, and the whole setup focuses on a comfortable, home-like feeling with a strong country theme, where they allow both dogs and cats so it feels more like home right away, and while the place does have 70 licensed beds as an assisted living facility and another smaller adult family home with 6 beds, you'll notice each resident gets a care plan that fits their needs, which means whether someone needs help with dressing, bathing, managing medicine, or requires care for high acuity, diabetes, incontinence, memory loss, or is non-ambulatory, the services stretch to cover those situations, and there are board and care options, too, which people sometimes like if they want a little more close-knit, shared-home setup, plus they offer respite care when a primary caregiver needs a break or seniors only need a short stay.

They call themselves an assisted living, non-Medicaid community, and along with daily personal care there are amenities like Wi-Fi, high-speed internet, meals with some specialty options, parking and easy transportation nearby, and plenty of common areas to gather, so folks can either keep to themselves or share time with others as they like, and the meals get good reviews from residents; plus, for those who need more support, they've got nursing jobs and caregiver staff on site, which lets them handle early stage or advanced care needs, even for folks with Alzheimer's and other dementias, since memory care there includes special therapies and support set up to reduce confusion and help keep people safe if wandering becomes a risk, and the value rating as well as staff quality seems strong, with high marks in reviews for attention and overall care.

The whole environment tries to strike a balance between comfort and support, as you'd hope, using the country living style to lower stress and let people keep as much independence as possible, and even folks who have higher care needs usually find the space and staff make it as easy as it gets to settle in and feel at ease, and you'll see they even have healthcare services with staffing for many types of care needs, so older adults wanting a quieter, homelike, country setting with a team that can meet a broad range of support needs can expect solid care and daily living help, all while being encouraged to stay independent when possible, and you notice that value for services tends to show up in the ratings.
