    Warm, attentive community, highly recommended

I moved my father into their independent/assisted living community and was impressed - very nice, comfortable facility with a great, welcoming community and better value than most places nearby. Staff are attentive, kind, keep our family updated, work well with hospice, and treated us like family; I would highly recommend them.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviewers describe Royal Ann as a comfortable, community-oriented senior living option with strengths in personal caregiving, hospice coordination, and family communication. Many comments emphasize compassionate, attentive staff who treat families as partners and keep relatives informed. The property is positioned as offering reasonable value in its local market and supports both independent and assisted living residents.

Care quality and staff: Caregiving staff receive consistently positive remarks for attentiveness, kindness, and responsiveness to families. Several families praised the facility’s ability to work with hospice providers and to include relatives in care discussions. At the same time, there are specific concerns about resident safety: reviewers noted repeated falls for one resident, which points to potential gaps in fall-prevention practices or monitoring. Prospective families should confirm current protocols for mobility assessments, supervision, and post-fall reviews.

Facilities and safety: The physical environment is described as comfortable and well suited for independent and assisted living. However, a serious property-security issue was reported involving access to an in-room safe and the loss of personal belongings; this incident highlighted weaknesses in how room-level storage is secured and how the facility controls access. That event, and the way it was handled administratively, suggests the need for clearer security policies and stronger resident-belonging protections.

Dining and activities: Review summaries do not provide detailed information about dining quality or the activity program. The overall characterization of the community as "very nice" and comfortable implies that basic amenities meet resident expectations, but there is insufficient direct feedback to assess meal quality or the breadth of organized activities. Visitors or prospective residents should ask for menus, sample activity calendars, and opportunities to observe a day’s programming.

Management and notable patterns: While direct-care staff are described favorably, there are consistent concerns about administrative responsiveness and incident follow-through. One account described poor management response to a security incident and an unresolved police report, which indicates inconsistent incident investigation and escalation procedures. In sum, Royal Ann appears to deliver strong front-line caregiving and family engagement, but prospective residents and families should probe operations-level safeguards—particularly fall-prevention protocols, in-room property-security measures, and the facility’s procedures for investigating and resolving serious incidents—before committing.
