    Warm professional care and peace

I moved my mother into the new Cogir Tigard and am very pleased - the staff (from Tina at reception to the caregivers and chef) are warm, professional and truly resident-focused. The bright, modern building, lovely common spaces, bistro dining, active calendar, pet-friendly vibe and proximity to shops and parks made her feel at home from day one. Based on our experience so far, I highly recommend this welcoming community for compassionate care and real peace of mind.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The community is described predominantly in positive terms: new, well-designed, and attractive with an inviting atmosphere. Reviewers frequently highlight the staff as a principal strength, characterizing caregivers, reception, and leadership as warm, helpful and personable. The move-in and transition experience is often described as smooth, with families noting attentive admissions staff and early rapport with caregivers.

Care quality and staff: Many families emphasize individualized, resident-centered care and a staff that goes beyond basic duties to engage residents. Staffing is commonly praised for kindness, professionalism, and collaborative work with external providers such as hospice. However, a minority of reviewers raised serious concerns about inconsistent care quality and responsiveness in certain situations. Those accounts point to variability in staff performance and indicate that prospective families should ask about staffing ratios, clinical oversight, and protocols for responding to incidents.

Dining and activities: Dining is consistently called out as a positive, with a chef-driven program and welcoming dining spaces. Multiple reviewers mention pleasant bistro and dining areas and instances of staff greeting residents in the dining room. The activity program is another strong point—an active calendar, organized outings (for example, local farm visits), social events, and creative offerings such as mini-golf and ice-cream socials contribute to resident engagement and social wellbeing.

Facilities and amenities: The facility’s design and upkeep receive frequent praise. Reviewers describe bright, modern interiors, attractive landscaping, and comfortable common areas. Apartments are noted as lovely and well-appointed. The community’s location close to shopping and parks is also viewed favorably for residents who want to remain active in the surrounding area.

Management, communication, and costs: Leadership and sales/management staff are generally viewed positively for responsiveness and an inviting approach. Nevertheless, there are notable operational concerns flagged by some families. A small number of reviews allege shortcomings in safety practices and in follow-up communication after clinical events; others express a perception that cost-control decisions have affected frontline care. Pricing is viewed as relatively high by some reviewers, and there are occasional comments about limited transparency on service and fee details. These patterns suggest prospective residents should request clear information on pricing, staffing levels, incident-reporting procedures, safety and transfer protocols, and family-notification practices during their tour.

Bottom line: Cogir Tigard presents as a contemporary, well-equipped community with strong social programming, appealing dining, and a staff culture that many families find welcoming and caring. At the same time, isolated but substantive concerns about safety practices, care consistency, incident communication, and cost transparency are present in the review set. Families considering the community would be well served by confirming clinical oversight, staffing metrics, safety protocols, and written pricing/service details before committing.
