Twinbrook Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is a 118-bed skilled nursing facility that's for seniors who need both short-term and long-term care, and they've got physical, occupational, and speech therapy right on site so folks working on recovery from stroke or injury don't have to go far for care, and you'll see they've set themselves up with six "neighborhoods" that try to make the place feel a bit more comfortable for everyone, organizing people into smaller groups for better attention and easier living, which is pretty thoughtful, and they're sure to help people with things like transfers, bathing, dressing, and making sure medication is handled right. They provide skilled nursing care all day with 12-16 hour nursing coverage, and a 24-hour call system means there's always help close if someone needs it, with extra support for those who can't get around so well. You'll find "neighborhoods" with furnished rooms, private bathrooms, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, cable TV, kitchenettes, and spaces that try to give some privacy and calm, plus they've added rooms for art, games, movies, music, and even a theater and library so it isn't only about treatment but also enjoying each day, and the outdoor areas have walking paths, a garden, and spots to sit outside. Meals come from a professional chef in the dining room, with choices for allergies or diabetes, and all-day dining lets people eat when it suits them. There's a special state-of-the-art emergency alert system for safety, and they do community-sponsored activities, music, arts, and movie nights, so folks are encouraged to be social if they want. Twinbrook supports family and resident councils for people to speak up and improve the community, and families can relax a little more knowing Medicare and Medicaid are accepted. The dedicated units help meet a range of care needs, from wound care and stroke recovery to non-ambulatory support. Twinbrook is a for-profit place with recent updates to its ownership, and they try to bring in community resources-like advocacy links, support, and events-as well as offering post-incarceration reentry programs and connections to emergency services, health library tools, and a symptom checker. They keep things practical by helping out with laundry, housekeeping, move-in, and concierge services, focusing on comfort and the day-to-day stuff that makes things easier for both residents and their families. About 18 beds are available in June 2025, and the facility is built to work alongside both state and federal support programs, so the care stays accessible whether it's for short stays after a hospital visit, or longer-lasting living and care needs.

Neglectful facility, some compassionate staff
I had a family member here and my experience was mixed but mostly negative. The facility felt poorly organized with unprofessional, sometimes rude staff, long phone waits, and terrible communication - nurses often unavailable, meds mishandled or refused, and belongings/laundry went missing. Rooms are small and outdated, food and activities are poor, and hallways smelled of urine; cleanliness, safety, and resident dignity were frequent concerns. That said, some people were excellent - Kaitlyn, Vivian, Mary (hospice), Cherise in HR, the speech/therapy team and several caring nurses went above and beyond. Overall, because of neglect, theft/laundry issues, inconsistent management, and safety worries, I would not recommend this place.
