    Clean facility with caring staff

I've been pleased with this longstanding Charleston facility - location and price are reasonable, the building is older but rooms are clean and tidy with weekly baths and nail care, and residents seem content. Staff are professional and genuinely caring, organized with medical records and proactive about follow-up and hospital referrals when needed; they give dignity to residents who've been forgotten by family. The facility is SC DHEC compliant and supportive of the community. I saw a prior negative review but felt it was disgruntled feedback and not representative of my experience.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews present a sharply mixed picture. Clinical care and certain aspects of daily support are frequently described positively: staff are characterized as caring and professional, medical records and follow-up appear well organized, and there are examples of appropriate hospital referrals and ongoing medical attention. Several families noted that residents receive routine personal-care services (weekly bathing and nail care) and that individual residents expressed contentment and gratitude. Location and pricing were generally viewed as acceptable.

Conversely, environmental and operational issues are a recurring theme. Multiple comments describe sanitation and odor concerns in common areas and laundry, and at least some reviewers noted possible mold-related odors and clothing cleanliness problems. These observations point to gaps in housekeeping, laundry processes, and environmental maintenance. Smoking-policy enforcement and exposure control were also raised as concerns, including references to cigarette smoke in the facility and access to cigarettes at the front desk; this indicates inconsistent policy implementation around smoking.

Staff performance is described in divergent terms: while many reviews praise compassionate and professional caregivers, others raise concerns about rudeness, lack of responsiveness, and inconsistent conduct. Together these accounts suggest variability in how staff interact with residents and families and potential gaps in training, supervision, or staffing consistency. Safety and physical-maintenance issues were also cited, implying that building upkeep and hazard mitigation warrant attention.

Management and oversight are notable areas of concern. Some reviewers urged regulatory intervention and cited violations; there is at least one allegation of undue regulatory influence. These assertions point to perceived weaknesses in administrative oversight, compliance, and transparency. Dining and activity programming receive little specific comment in the available summaries, which suggests either neutral performance or uneven reporting on those areas.

For prospective residents and families this facility shows strengths in individualized clinical attention and compassionate caregiving from certain staff members, but also displays operational weaknesses in environmental maintenance, incontinence-care processes, smoking-policy enforcement, and consistent staff conduct. An in-person visit is advisable; specific questions to consider include housekeeping and laundry schedules, smoking policies and exposure controls, staff training and supervision practices, incident/maintenance logs, infection-control and mold remediation procedures, and the facility's regulatory history and corrective actions.

    About Langit Assisted Living Facility

Langit's Assisted Living Facility sits on 1273 Remount Rd in North Charleston, SC, and offers a quiet, single-story building designed for seniors who need different kinds of care, and what's nice is that the facility provides independent living, assisted living, nursing home services, memory care, respite care, hospice care, and continuing care for those who want to stay in one place as they age, and it houses up to 6 residents, which lets staff give more personal attention and a homelike setting; the whole building's focused on safety, with an emergency alert system and 24-hour staff, and it's licensed with the state of South Carolina, passing all its safety checks, and there are also services like diabetic and insulin monitoring, help with bathing, dressing, grooming, medication, and incontinence care, plus transportation for outings, shopping, doctor visits, and faith services for residents who want to keep in touch with their community, and they do offer help with things like bathroom use and wheelchair transfers for folks who need a little extra support.

Meals come three times a day, homemade in the facility's kitchen, and diets get adjusted for things like diabetes or hypertension if needed, keeping people's health in mind, and there's all-day dining for folks who like to eat outside set times, and every room's set up with Wi-Fi, cable TV, phone, kitchenettes, and air conditioning to keep everyone comfortable, with private bathrooms and both semi-private and studio-style apartments available too, and the place is pet friendly, so residents can bring their pets along for company.

Folks at Langit's can use the library, beauty salon, game room, movie theater, garden, and fitness room, and there are plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces for sitting and relaxing or gathering with friends. Regular activities fill up the calendar, including crafts, music, movie nights, book clubs, group games, animal therapy, and movement classes, and there are devotionals for spiritual needs along with regular wellness programs to keep minds and bodies active, and residents can schedule tours to see the community before deciding.

For those who need more help, there's 12- to 16-hour nursing care on top of the 24-hour supervision, and staff will handle medication, meals, housekeeping, laundry, and move-in coordination, making it easier for families and residents alike. Transportation gets arranged for errands and medical appointments, and the staff's fluent in English, always around to help in emergencies, and ready to work with special dietary requests or health needs.

Langit's Assisted Living Facility aims to give seniors a safe, caring space with support for everyday activities, close attention from trained staff, opportunities for engagement and socialization, and comfortable housing, whether a resident needs just a little help or more complex care day and night.
