    Welcoming community with friendly staff

I live at Park Place and am pleased with the friendly, caring staff - Teresa and Anita especially. The building is clean, newly renovated and bright, apartments are spacious, and there are tons of activities plus on-site amenities (salon, fitness, chapel) and regular transportation. It's a welcoming, well-run community with independent, assisted and memory-care options; I would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Park Place Retirement Community presents as a well‑established, community‑oriented senior living option with several operational strengths. Families and residents commonly praise the staff for being compassionate, long‑tenured, and responsive; reception and desk personnel receive frequent positive mention for helpfulness. The property offers a broad set of on‑site amenities — including a salon, chapel, library, barber/beauty services, fitness room, and post office — and provides regular transportation to shopping and medical appointments. Apartment units are often described as bright and spacious with good storage capacity, and the grounds and recently completed capital improvements contribute to an overall hotel‑like, clean environment.

Dining and activities are focal points of resident life. The community operates restaurant‑style dining with three meals daily and a dining room that many residents find pleasant and social. Organized programming is robust: daily exercise classes, card games, puzzles, evening activities, and planned outings are cited repeatedly as important to quality of life. Reviewers also value the sense of community, on‑site therapy services, flexible housing options (independent, assisted, and memory care), and policies such as pet acceptance that support resident engagement.

Despite these strengths, reviewers identify several operational concerns prospective residents should investigate. Multiple accounts point to variability in food quality tied to kitchen staffing challenges; families described a perceived decline in meal service consistency over time. More serious clinical concerns appear in isolated but consequential accounts — including missed medication administration and delayed clinical response — which indicate potential gaps in medication management and clinical‑incident response that warrant direct inquiry with management. There is also a noted shift in on‑site clinical capability: some skilled nursing services for independent living residents have been reduced or discontinued, which may affect care continuity for those with evolving medical needs.

Facility design and costs are additional tradeoffs. The property mixes recent renovations with older, dated areas: reviewers appreciate remodeled bathrooms and clean grounds but also describe dark hallways, some unattractive interior color schemes, and a layout that some find awkward. Outdoor/common‑area space is limited in parts of the campus. Cost is flagged by multiple residents and family members as relatively high for some apartment configurations, and unit sizes vary — some apartments are roomy while others are perceived as small.

Overall, Park Place appears to offer strong everyday quality-of-life features — attentive staff, plentiful programming, useful amenities, and a maintained campus — alongside a set of operational items families should clarify before moving in. Recommended pre‑move steps include asking for recent staffing and kitchen schedules, specifics about medication administration policies and emergency response procedures, current on‑site nursing capabilities, and a tour of available apartment types and outdoor spaces to confirm fit and value.
