    Kind staff, excellent therapy, inviting

I had a very positive experience - the staff were consistently kind, caring, and went above and beyond; therapy was excellent, meals were tasty and customizable, and the facility was clean, homey, and active. Communication with my family was clear and frequent, and I would recommend this center and return.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews of Soddy-Daisy Healthcare Center describe a facility with significant strengths in clinical rehabilitation and many staff who are compassionate, skilled, and family-oriented, alongside recurring operational weaknesses that affect day-to-day resident experience. Families frequently praise the therapy teams, nursing aides, and certain nurses for achieving measurable functional gains and providing attentive, dignified care. At the same time, several enduring service and operational patterns raise concerns about consistency in delivery.

Care and staff: Clinical care quality appears mixed but leans positive in skilled and therapy-focused services. Physical and occupational therapy staff are repeatedly cited as a high point, with reports of motivating therapists and successful rehab outcomes. Many families felt well informed by social services and certain administrators. However, staffing instability is a consistent theme — low or inconsistent staffing levels were linked to delays in responding to resident requests, slow attention to personal-care needs, and variable CNA attentiveness. Reviewers also raised concerns about medication-management practices and the tone of some staff interactions. There are isolated but serious claims concerning alleged staff theft and other misconduct that families flagged as requiring investigation.

Dining and activities: Dining impressions are mixed. Several reviewers praised flavorful, customizable meals and specific menu items, while others noted uneven food quality and late meal service. The activities program is frequently described as active and engaging, offering arts and crafts, games, and social opportunities that many residents enjoy. Activity frequency and execution appear to vary by unit and staffing availability.

Facilities and housekeeping: Many comments describe a clean, bright, and well-kept interior and inviting common areas; housekeeping and laundry staff are often commended. At the same time, reviewers described inconsistent room-level cleanliness, intermittent odor concerns in some areas, and cramped shared rooms. These mixed impressions suggest that building- and unit-level maintenance is generally effective but not uniformly applied across all rooms and shifts.

Management and operations: Communication and administrative responsiveness are also mixed. Several families reported clear, helpful communication from social services and administrators and rapid resolution when issues were escalated. Conversely, other families described delayed follow-up on billing/refund matters, inconsistent front-desk responsiveness, and uneven enforcement of standards. Staffing shortages and vendor-equipment reliability (for outsourced medical equipment) were called out as operational constraints that compound other service gaps.

Notable patterns and considerations for families: The facility appears to deliver strong skilled-rehab care for many residents, supported by a therapy-focused environment and many committed caregivers. Prospective residents and families should weigh that strength against patterned operational weaknesses: inconsistent staffing across shifts, variable cleanliness at the room level, uneven meal timing/quality, and communication breakdowns. Serious allegations such as theft and medication-management concerns merit direct discussion with facility leadership and, where appropriate, regulatory authorities. If considering Soddy-Daisy Healthcare Center, arrange targeted conversations about staffing ratios, response times to call lights, room housekeeping practices, medication oversight, and the handling of billing/refund issues; visiting in person (or arranging phone/video meetings with clinical leadership) will help assess current performance and consistency.

    About Soddy-Daisy Healthcare Center

Soddy-Daisy Healthcare Center sits in the Tennessee River Valley and offers skilled nursing care, long-term care, memory care for Alzheimer's and dementia, and respite care, so folks can get help for a short stay or for a longer time, and the place handles physical, occupational, and speech therapy right there on site, which means you don't have to travel somewhere else for these services. The staff does their best to focus on comfort and well-being, with rooms and living spaces made to feel home-like, which really helps people settle in and feel at ease, and they pay close attention to treating everyone with dignity and respect, encouraging independence as much as possible. They've got specialized units and licensed beds, and the building has specialized medical equipment needed for many different care needs, so whatever the situation is, the staff's pretty prepared. The team's known for being compassionate and professional, many of them have years of experience, and they put the residents' needs first, checking in often and keeping track of both health and comfort. The center's privately operated, and there's another location in Knoxville, so they're not a big chain but they do work hard on keeping up their reputation for quality care. They stick to a family-focused way of doing things, trying to bring the community together and get residents involved, which makes things a little brighter and less lonely for folks. The facility's kept clean, and it's equipped with aids and amenities to help with daily life and therapy, always aiming to balance support with independence. The on-site staff handles all daily responsibilities, from nursing and medical care to help with day-to-day activities, and if somebody needs extra attention, they're there to help. There's a wide range of healthcare services available to match what the resident might need on any given day. In all, Soddy-Daisy Healthcare Center works to create a place where people get solid care, a comfortable setting, and a little bit of peace and dignity in their daily life.
