    Attentive secure homey memory care

I moved my dad here and I'm very pleased. The staff genuinely care - they greet residents by name, give attentive, loving care and even daily pampering. Rooms feel homey and spotless with a pleasant scent, meals are excellent, and there's a wide variety of engaging activities that keep him involved and thriving. Memory care is secure and family-friendly, with safe outdoor areas and clear communication from staff and leadership. Overall it's a small, caring community that gives our family real peace of mind.

    Summary of reviews

Legacy Living Memory Care presents a mix of clear strengths and operational areas that prospective residents and families should evaluate. The community is repeatedly described as memory-care–focused, with a four-house small-house layout and phase-specific wings that support differentiated care. Many families praise the caregiving staff as compassionate and attentive, and highlight 24/7 nursing availability, private rooms with en suite bathrooms, well-maintained grounds, and a home-like interior. Dining is frequently characterized as nutritious and appealing, with three meals a day, snacks, and many residents expressing satisfaction with the food.

Activities and social programming are a prominent strength. Reviews emphasize a robust calendar — bingo, arts and crafts, flower arranging, themed parties, fitness classes, excursions to parks and the zoo, and cultural events — often led by an engaged Activities Director. Families note that these programs support socialization, routine, and quality of life, and that website activity updates and family nights help keep relatives informed and involved.

Alongside these positives, a pattern of operational inconsistencies emerges. Staffing instability and turnover are recurring themes and are linked to variability in continuity of care and in the tone of staff–resident interactions. Several families described language or communication barriers that complicate coordination and conversations. There are also concerns related to medication administration processes and end-of-life/hospice medication coordination; families should ask for clarification on protocols. Operational weaknesses cited include intermittent sanitation and odor concerns in resident or common areas, incontinence-care inconsistencies, occasional laundry and personal-item mix-ups, and variability in supervision and wander-prevention practices.

Management and administrative changes have also affected some families' experiences. Multiple reviewers referenced management shakeups, unanswered billing questions, and uneven executive decision-making, which can amplify the operational issues above. For families considering Legacy, the community may be a good fit for those seeking a structured, activity-rich memory-care environment with a strong sense of community and visible clinical coverage. Before committing, inquire about current staffing ratios and turnover, medication-administration and hospice protocols, supervision and wandering-prevention approaches, laundry and personal-item procedures, and recent inspection or quality-review results. Visiting during different shifts and meeting direct-care staff can help gauge day-to-day consistency and whether the facility’s strengths align with your priorities.

    About Legacy Living Memory Care

Legacy Living Memory Care is a secure memory care community located at 1501 NE Green Oaks Blvd in Arlington, Texas, and it's been serving the local community for 17 years, focusing on individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Residents live in one of four houses with private, fully furnished bedrooms, and the atmosphere aims to feel cozy and homelike, helping everyone feel comfortable as they go about their daily routines. Meals are home-style, with options for studio apartments averaging $3,750, and dining is available whenever residents wish to eat, whether they choose to enjoy restaurant-style service, room service, or need special meals like low-sodium or low-sugar options. The grounds include secured courtyards, a quarter-mile walking path, and gardens for safe outdoor time, while inside residents have access to common rooms, a coffee shop, entertainment areas, a beauty and barber shop, and fitness spaces with programs like yoga, stretching, Tai Chi, and brain fitness. Pets are welcome here, and people can keep dogs and cats. The staff includes 24-hour awake nurses who specialize in Alzheimer's and dementia care, provide hourly safety checks, and there's always a medical director-a nurse practitioner-and a doctor on call if needed, with visiting healthcare providers like podiatrists, dentists, and therapists coming regularly. The community supports different care needs for those who are diabetic, need insulin monitoring and injections, require assistance with daily living activities, or might experience behaviors like wandering or aggression. Legacy Living Memory Care uses secure building features and technology like alarmed bracelets and locked areas to keep residents safe and limit confusion or wandering. There's a strong focus on regular activities, with a full-time activity director planning arts and crafts, cooking classes, gardening, music, trivia, outings, karaoke, wine tastings, fitness and wellness programs, and much more, always keeping the mind and body engaged, and recognizing each person's strengths and interests. Families can check the website to see recent activities, and church services along with other spiritual programs are provided right on the property. Housekeeping, maintenance, linen, and laundry services are part of daily life, so each person's environment stays clean and pleasant. The staff have decades of memory care experience, with low turnover and an emphasis on safety and individualized support, enabling people needing physical therapy, rehabilitation, behavioral care, medication management, or hospice and respite care to remain in one place as their needs change. Legacy Living Memory Care remains strongly committed to residents' security and well-being, with safety checks, structured programs all week, and secure spaces designed specifically for those with memory loss, always aiming to reduce confusion, prevent wandering, and provide a safe, nurturing home-like environment. They're open Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and families can speak directly with Bonnie Pleasants for more information about the community, which continues to support families and their loved ones as they navigate the challenges of memory loss.
