    Loving clean supportive faith-based community

I'm very pleased overall - the staff are warm, kind, and attentive, and the care is loving and patient. The community and rooms are bright and sparkling clean, meals are excellent (including diabetic-friendly options), and the hospice/memory-care teams are compassionate. The tour and transition support put us at ease; my loved one is happy and thriving and we would recommend this nonprofit, faith-based community.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The facility receives consistently positive remarks for its person-centered care, welcoming culture, and well-maintained campus. Families and residents commonly highlight compassionate staff, long-tenured caregivers, and a faith-based nonprofit orientation that shapes the community environment. Memory Care is repeatedly described as competent in managing dementia-related behaviors and supportive toward families. Several accounts also emphasize good end-of-life supports, including hospice coordination and attentive final-hours care.

Care and staff: Staffing and caregiving are central strengths. Reviewers describe staff as kind, patient, and responsive, with staff members who provide transition support and maintain regular communication with families. The longevity of personnel contributes to continuity of care and familiarity with resident needs. Memory Care services are noted for practical skill in dementia-related behaviors and for establishing consistent routines that benefit residents’ daily functioning.

Dining and activities: Dining is a consistent area of satisfaction. Meals are described as well-prepared, varied, and accommodating of dietary needs (including diabetic-friendly options), with several families saying the food is an improvement over prior placements. The community offers a broad calendar of activities, fitness amenities such as a workout room, and accessible outdoor areas including a lake and a dog park, which support social engagement and physical wellness.

Facilities and environment: The physical campus is characterized as clean, bright, and well-maintained, with cheerful common spaces and landscaped grounds. Apartment offerings range in size and configuration, and many families appreciate larger independent units and comfortable, private rooms. The natural setting and outdoor amenities are repeatedly cited as contributors to resident satisfaction and quality of life.

Management and notable patterns: The provider’s nonprofit, faith-based identity and experienced leadership appear to contribute to a stable operational culture and family-centered practices, including pandemic-era safety measures and flexibility for family visits. Common themes across reviews are strong staff–resident relationships, effective memory-care programming, and high marks for dining and sanitation.

Areas to consider: Layout and unit configuration emerge as the main operational limitations. Some units have smaller floor plans and long corridors that can reduce incidental social interaction; variable apartment layouts mean that the social experience can differ depending on unit choice. Prospective residents and families should verify apartment size and floor-plan location relative to communal areas to ensure the desired level of privacy versus daily social engagement.

Bottom line: The community presents as a well-run, compassionate option with strengths in caregiving continuity, memory-care competence, quality dining, and an engaging activity program. Site-specific factors such as unit size and corridor layout merit attention when touring, so families can match a particular apartment to their social and mobility preferences.

About Christian Care Communities and Services

Christian Care Communities and Services sits on a large, rolling property off Randol Mill Road in Fort Worth, Texas, with woods, gardens, and a five-acre lake for fishing that families can enjoy, and you'll see big hallways and lots of natural light everywhere you look, plus plenty of spots to sit outside if you like fresh air and a view of the water. Lakewood Village and Cummings Assisted Living are part of the same community, offering choices for independent living, assisted living, and memory care assisted living, with residents able to change their level of care as their needs change. Housing options include studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 261 to 1,406 square feet, each with a full or partial kitchen, and some are single-room units. Apartments come with utilities, satellite TV, housekeeping, and room service, while Wi-Fi, parking, and free transportation help keep things simple.

The full-time Wellness Director and more than 20 fitness classes support seniors who want to stay physically active, with scheduled morning exercise, book clubs, Bible study, and trips off campus for shopping or ice cream, and there's a computer room, arts and crafts, a library, a big dining room, and a multipurpose room with a full kitchen where meals and activities bring people together. Skilled nursing, memory care, home care, outpatient therapy, and help with diabetes, medication, and daily living chores like bathing and dressing are all supported by a licensed, well-trained staff, including aides and professionals experienced in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease and various physical conditions. Residents with memory issues or who need hospice care for end-of-life comfort get special support in monitored units, with scheduled therapy, cognitive activities, and an environment built to reduce confusion and prevent wandering.

Meals planned by chef and nutrition staff are served daily in the dining areas, with options for special diets and guests, and pets are welcome in some apartments. Everything runs on month-to-month fees based on unit size and care, without a big entrance fee, so independent living starts around $980, assisted living about $1,700 to $2,870, and skilled nursing from $120 to $200 per day. Emergency call systems are on all the time, and the grounds are gated and secured. Residents' spiritual and emotional well-being is a focus, since the community is associated with the Church of Christ, with devotional services and Bible study right on site, and English and Spanish are spoken by staff.

People here keep busy with social, education, and entertainment events, concerts in a music room, fishing at the lake, walking on the Cherry Blossom Trail, or sitting on the covered porch, and there are patio gardens for those who want to get their hands in the dirt. Home care aides, personal aides, and in-house pharmacy services add extra support for residents, and everyone is encouraged to enjoy a safe, worry-free life with visits from friends and family. The facility has picked up several awards, including Best of Senior Living and Best Activities, and folks say it's a friendly place where the staff offers Christian care in a welcoming, familiar setting, with special focus on dignity and comfort for every resident.
