    Excellent rehab in resort-like setting

I stayed here for rehab and was very pleased - the building and rooms were spotless and comfortable, the grounds and patio felt resort-like, and daily activities kept me engaged. Therapy (PT/OT) was outstanding and the nursing and support staff were consistently caring, professional, and approachable. Overall a very solid choice for skilled nursing and rehab close to home; I'd recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Tuscany Village Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation elicits a wide range of experiences. Strengths most often cited include a clean, well-maintained building and grounds, a welcoming dining room and common areas, and an array of physical, occupational and speech therapy services that many families credited with measurable mobility and functional gains. Reviewers frequently praise direct-care staff — CNAs, med techs, and therapists by name — for being compassionate, personable, and effective. Housekeeping, laundry, and facility maintenance are also commonly described as responsive, and the availability of private rooms with accessible bathrooms and motorized beds contributes to a comfortable, hotel-like environment for many residents.

At the same time, a recurrent pattern across feedback points to operational inconsistencies that materially affect care experience. Staffing levels are described as uneven, with greater shortages and slower response times at night, on weekends, and during holidays; this is tied to delays in answering call buttons, missed or delayed personal care tasks (bathing, toileting support), and longer waits for transfers or assistance. Several reviews raise concerns about medication administration, clinical monitoring (including delayed lab results and glycemic control), and documentation or shift-handoff practices — all of which can undermine continuity of care. Discharge planning and post-discharge coordination are another frequent problem area, with examples of incomplete home-health arrangements and poor communication about transitions.

Dining and nutrition receive mixed reviews: many residents find the menu varied and enjoyable, while others note food-temperature issues and lapses in dietary restriction compliance. Housekeeping is generally a strength, but a subset of reports details sanitation and pest-control issues or water-damage concerns in specific rooms or areas; these appear sporadic but significant to affected families. Administrative and billing problems — reservation mishandling, invoice disputes, and inconsistent admissions intake — are recurrent themes and contribute to family stress during transitions. A few reviews also raise safety and security concerns, including property-security gaps and supply shortages during peak periods, indicating potential areas for system-level improvement.

Overall, Tuscany Village demonstrates notable clinical and rehabilitative capacity and a large base of dedicated frontline staff and therapists who deliver positive outcomes for many residents. However, the facility shows persistent operational vulnerabilities: staffing variability, communication and documentation gaps, episodic sanitation and security issues, and uneven discharge/billing processes. Prospective residents and families should weigh the facility’s strong therapy and direct-care strengths against these operational risks; when choosing or monitoring placement, request clarity on staffing levels by shift, specific medication-administration and handoff protocols, discharge planning steps (including home-health set-up), and the facility’s schedule for addressing sanitation, pest control, and security improvements.

About Tuscany Village Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation

Tuscany Village Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation sits on Miller Ranch Road in Pearland, TX, and the whole place brings to mind the Italian countryside with quiet patios, a courtyard view, and rooms set up for privacy, even in the semi-private spaces with large dividers, and folks like Jessica and Gladys stand out for giving good care. This is a privately owned skilled nursing and rehab center that's been around since 2008, run by the Barcelo family and shaped by over 50 years of their experience in healthcare, and here you'll find a clean and calm place where residents often talk about good food and a caring staff. The center has 5 stars, the highest rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and it works closely with Memorial Hermann, Methodist, and CHI St. Luke's Hospital Systems as a preferred provider, which means the standards for care are on the higher side, with full-time specialized nursing care all day, every day. Staff here includes doctors, nurses, therapists, and support staff who all aim to help folks recover after an illness or surgery, and there's a focus on keeping the quality high, cutting down on people having to go back to the hospital. Rehabilitation services go pretty wide, covering physical, occupational, and speech therapies, and you'll find programs for orthopedic and stroke rehab, post-surgical care, IV therapy, respiratory therapy, wound care, and memory care, with private rehab suites ready for those who need a quieter space for short-term healing and a dining room where residents can gather. Daily scripted rounds happen here, so trained staff and physicians make regular visits to check on each resident, and care plans are tailored to fit everyone's individual needs with regular progress checkups. Hallmark Rehab and Reliant Rehabilitation are also part of this campus. Residents can join social, educational, and recreational activities, while family values and empathy shape the way care is provided, and there's an effort to create a home-like setting that keeps things comfortable and supportive for everyone living there. This facility covers both short-term rehab and long-term nursing care and works hard to make sure each person feels respected, safe, and looked after the way family would. Tuscany Village isn't accredited by the BBB, but it's received strong feedback from families about its cleanliness, calm environment, and attention to care, and it keeps a steady reputation in the Pearland community for quality among skilled nursing centers.
