    Compassionate clean facility with activities

I placed my mom here and feel very comfortable with the compassionate, friendly staff and the spotless, home-like facility. She's happy, well cared for, enjoys the activities, good food, and the beautiful grounds, and staff communicate regularly (even helped with FaceTime). It's a warm, community-oriented place I recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression Robert Lee Care Center receives consistently positive comments about the daily caregiving environment: reviewers emphasize compassionate, long-tenured staff who know residents by name, a clean and well-maintained interior, and pleasant outdoor grounds that include gardens, bird feeders, and a gazebo. Families frequently note a small-town, home-like atmosphere, multiple comfortable common areas, an active calendar (singalongs, community events), and availability of daily physical therapy. Several accounts describe reassuring end-of-life support and use of technology (FaceTime) to keep families connected. Care quality and staff Care interactions are the strongest recurring theme. Many reviewers describe staff as caring, empathetic, and knowledgeable; staff longevity and local hiring are highlighted as contributors to continuity of care and familiarity with residents. Reviewers also praise staff responsiveness in routine needs and the supportive tone provided during serious health transitions. At the same time, isolated but significant operational concerns were described by families related to how the facility responds to clinical incidents: specifically, there are examples indicating gaps in timely family communication following adverse events and questions about safety protocols during transfers or mobility assistance. Dining, activities, and daily life The activity program is frequently cited as robust and engaging, with a full calendar of social opportunities and rehabilitation services such as daily physical therapy. Reviewers report high resident participation and satisfaction with activities and communal spaces. Dining is generally described positively, with multiple comments about good food. The facilityโ€™s attractive grounds and community involvement are viewed as assets that support resident well-being and social engagement. Facilities and management patterns Facility-level strengths include cleanliness, well-maintained common areas, and a layout that offers several choices for resident interaction. Some reviewers describe parts of the building as having an institutional appearance, which may contrast with the otherwise home-like feel of outdoor spaces and communal areas. Management practices earn praise for staff support and compassion, but there are notable operational weaknesses: inconsistent property-management procedures (for example, belongings handling) and uneven incident-notification practices to families. These issues suggest the facility would benefit from clearer processes for post-incident communication, property handling, and formalized fall-prevention or safe-transfer protocols. What prospective families should weigh For families prioritizing compassionate daily care, strong community ties, active programming, and accessible therapy services, this facility presents many positive attributes. Prospective residents and their families should, however, ask specific questions about clinical-incident response protocols, how the facility communicates with families after adverse events, fall-prevention and transfer training, and property-handling procedures. Touring the facility to evaluate both the updated common areas and any institutional-feeling sections, and discussing available specialized clinical services, will help align expectations with operational realities.

    About Robert Lee Care Center

Robert Lee Care Center sits at 307 West 8th in Robert Lee, Texas, and holds 70 certified beds, which means the facility can serve many people in the area and the nearby communities, and you'll find it offers skilled nursing services, rehabilitation therapy, memory care, palliative care, and help with pain management, so residents get help with a wide variety of health needs, and this care goes along with support for daily activities, things like medication management and health monitoring, which is important for folks who want to stay as independent as possible for as long as they can. It's run as a for-profit corporation and has been owned by the West Coke County Hospital District since 2011, with Wesley McGuire in charge since 2017 and Houston McGuire as the current administrator. Residents can enjoy restaurant-style dining and several amenities, like a fitness center, salon and spa, a movie theater, as well as access to walking paths and landscaped gardens, which helps folks stay active and social, and there's also support for social media and community involvement. You'll find personalized care plans for each resident at Robert Lee Care Center, though there have been some deficiencies raised in recent inspections, for example, the latest survey found concerns about providing safe and proper care, following appropriate treatment orders, developing complete care plans, and meeting nutrition and dietary standards, with no actual harm noted but enough concern for potential harm if not addressed, and that's something families will want to think about. The facility is certified for Medicare and Medicaid, and it's rated as a 4-Star certified facility, and nurse staffing averages around 3.94 hours per resident daily, so most care and help comes from the nurses and other staff, with a focus on keeping everyone comfortable and cared for in a place that serves an important role in the Robert Lee community.
