    Loving professional care; highly recommended

I moved my mom into this small, family-like community and have been very pleased. The staff are professional, loving and available 24/7, with personalized care thanks to a low resident-to-staff ratio and secure memory-care. The building is spotless and homey - courtyard views, private apartments with kitchenettes, salon/housekeeping/laundry, great restaurant-style meals, and plenty of activities and outings. Responsive administration and genuinely caring employees make this easy to recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Chisholm Court is frequently described as a small, family-oriented assisted living community with a strong focus on personalized, compassionate caregiving. Reviewers commonly highlight a professional nursing presence, frequent resident checks, responsive call-button service and a home-like setting. The facility’s smaller size and low resident-to-caregiver ratio are often cited as advantages that support individualized attention and a tight-knit social environment.

Care and staff: Families regularly praise the caring demeanor of caregivers and nurses, noting attentiveness, compassion and proactive nursing. Many accounts emphasize 24-hour staffing, close supervision for memory-care residents and staff willingness to work with hospice and outside clinicians. At the same time, a recurring operational concern centers on staffing consistency — periodic shortages or stretched staff have been linked to service interruptions, slower meal assistance and what some families described as chaotic shifts. A subset of comments raised concerns about staff conduct or professionalism; these are best understood as indications that staff training, supervision and family communication could be strengthened in select situations.

Dining and nutrition: Dining is a prominent strength. The facility offers restaurant-style meals, frequent dining-room service and a variety of menu items; house-made dishes and special meal events receive consistent praise. Reviewers also value in-room treats and dining choices. Nevertheless, a few families described inconsistent meal assistance for residents who need help eating, and some suggested occasional variability in perceived meal quality or portioning. Clearer communication about meal schedules and assistance expectations would help set family expectations.

Activities and social life: Chisholm Court provides a broad mix of social and recreational programming — music, card games, Bible study, gardening, walking groups, outings to parks and malls, and family nights — contributing to an active community atmosphere. The community feel and social engagement are commonly noted as positive. However, some families felt activity offerings could be expanded to better serve residents with limited mobility or different interests, and activity delivery can be affected when staffing is thin.

Facilities and amenities: The physical plant is consistently described as clean, attractively decorated and well-maintained, with private apartments (often with kitchenettes), wide hallways, a courtyard and pleasant landscaping. Memory-care residents have a secured unit and one-on-one care options are available. Onsite amenities such as a salon, piano, dining rooms and activity spaces add to the home-like character.

Management, communication and cost: Administrative staff are often described as helpful and responsive, and several families praised smooth transitions and individualized attention at admission. Still, multiple reviews identified opportunities for improved family orientation at move-in, clearer guidance on what supplies families must provide, and more proactive notifications about significant issues. Cost is occasionally cited as a concern — the facility is perceived as higher-priced by some families, which raises expectations for consistent staffing and robust communication.

Notable patterns: Strengths are concentrated around staff compassion, cleanliness, pleasant dining and a warm, small-community atmosphere with memory-care capabilities. The primary operational risks reflected across reviews relate to inconsistent staffing levels and gaps in communication and care coordination; these operational traits appear to influence family perceptions of reliability, particularly during transitions or when residents require more intensive assistance. Prospective residents and families should weigh the evident strengths in personalized care and amenities against the potential for intermittent staffing and communication shortfalls, and discuss staffing patterns, meal/medication routines and move-in orientation with management during the tour and admission process.
