    About Hillcrest Care Center

Hillcrest Care Center sits at 348 E 8000 S in Sandy, Utah, south of Salt Lake City, and offers care for seniors who need different kinds of help, with services like Assisted Living, Memory and Dementia Care, Long-term Care, Nursing Home services, Hospice, and Respite Care, as well as help with everyday things like bathing, dressing, medication, and getting around, all helped along by a staff that folks say are friendly, supportive, and kind, which is something that's won them a few "Best of Senior Living" and "All Star" awards, and the center itself has a license that means they meet certain safety rules and caregiver-to-senior ratios for better care, doing regular health and safety checks. The community's got about 50 to 60 beds for residents with special needs, in a building that tries to feel homey, with private bathrooms and furnished rooms, plus cable TV, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning, and there's a 24-hour call system and nursing services for 12-16 hours a day. Folks eat in a big community dining room with chef-prepared meals, and they've got food for special diets, like diabetic, portion control, and allergy-sensitive menus, with both buffet and cafeteria-style dining, and even some nutrition and cooking classes thrown in. There's regular housekeeping and laundry, move-in help, and full transportation and parking, and families or residents can reach out and get more details from an advisor before moving in or even download a brochure. Life at Hillcrest feels active, with games, movie nights, music programs, and even things like writing books or making movies, and sometimes they've got programming about money management, community awareness, and cooking, plus bigger activities like river trips, rock climbing, the Special Olympics, and day programs for seniors, with a big courtyard, a gazebo, green lawns, walking paths, a spa room, a library, and a fitness room. The staff receives awards for being helpful and making everyone feel welcome, and the center wants folks to stay as independent as possible, encouraging resident-run projects and community activities-people even get involved in their own initiatives, so there's always something to do together. They've also partnered with A Place For Mom to help families get more guidance, and they're active too on Facebook, posting about what goes on and ways to stay involved, though there's currently no public reviews, but there's a handful of ratings that put them at about 4.2 out of 5. Hillcrest has been around since 2007, under the direction of Administrator Mr. Brian Heugly, with two locations available, and they keep up activities like outdoor programs, gardening, and plenty of opportunities for residents to form friendships, not only with each other, but also with staff who often join in the different events and daily activities, and folks are always welcome to tour the community to see if it feels right for their needs.
