    Excellent care and welcoming facility

I moved my mom into Twin Oaks and I'm very pleased. The brand-new, spotless facility has roomy rooms, large baths, gym, salon and a lovely courtyard. Owners and staff are on-site, caring and knowledgeable - they know residents by name, sit with them when needed, and the on-site chef accommodates dietary needs. There are daily activities, memory care available, smooth move-in, and a welcoming, homey atmosphere that gives our family real peace of mind. Highly recommended.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Twin Oaks is widely described as a new, well-appointed assisted living and memory-care community with a strong emphasis on a home-like environment and personalized attention. Reviewers commonly praise the facility’s physical design — spacious private rooms, private baths, bright dining and community spaces, courtyard and amenities such as a gym and salon — and highlight a small-community feel that many families find comforting.

Care and staff: Many families emphasize compassionate, personable staff and hands-on owners who are present and accessible. Reviewers cite responsive, proactive management, quick handling of admission and insurance tasks, and staff who establish meaningful connections with residents. These strengths contribute to reduced family anxiety and a high level of satisfaction for numerous residents.

Areas of concern in care: Alongside positive accounts there are substantive, divergent experiences. Several families described operational gaps that affected care reliability — specifically inconsistent staffing levels (notably CNA coverage), variable adherence to personal-care routines, and lapses in supervision in memory-care settings, including nighttime monitoring. A few accounts were serious enough that families arranged relocation to alternative settings. There is also mention of a history of regulatory scrutiny; prospective families should inquire directly about any past actions and current corrective measures.

Dining and activities: Dining is a frequent positive: an on-site chef, three meals daily, dietary accommodations (including gluten-free options), and generally good food quality were highlighted. Activity programming is active and varied, supporting socialization and family involvement; however, some activities are not consistently adapted for residents with hearing or vision impairments. Ask how programs are individualized and how staff accommodate sensory needs.

Facilities and logistics: The property’s newness and cleanliness are repeatedly noted. Practical advantages include a convenient location, transportation services, acceptance of Medicare supplement plans, and competitive pricing for the market. The community’s small scale and family-run character are viewed as benefits for personalized attention.

Management and patterns to verify: While many reviewers praise current management and owner involvement, others describe earlier leadership and staffing instability. The pattern is mixed: improvements were reported after management changes in some cases, while other reviews described unresolved operational issues. Given the variability, it is advisable for prospective families to ask specific questions about current staffing ratios, CNA schedules, memory-care supervision protocols, emergency-response procedures, and any history of regulatory investigation.

Practical recommendation: For families considering Twin Oaks, arrange multiple visits at varied times of day, speak with current resident families if possible, review staffing rosters and supervision plans for memory care, and request documentation of any regulatory history and corrective actions. These steps will help confirm whether the facility’s many reported strengths align with the specific care needs and safety expectations of the prospective resident.

    About Twin Oaks Assisted Living

Twin Oaks Assisted Living offers a variety of care for older adults, from independent living for those wanting less hassle and smaller homes to assisted living with help for daily needs like bathing, dressing, and medication. The community also has a special secured memory care unit for residents with Alzheimer's and dementia, where staff follow personalized care plans and keep a close eye on safety with features like Wanderguard and on-site security, and they deliver exercises, music, art, and animal therapy aimed at helping memory and quality of life. Residents get to live in private or semi-private rooms, with some apartments offering one or two bedrooms, kitchenettes, balconies, and storage, all cleaned and kept up by housekeeping and laundry services, and those who want can enjoy furnished apartments with private bathrooms, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and cable TV. Twin Oaks has lots of common spaces for socializing, with a movie theater, library, outdoor walking paths, game room, business room, fitness center, spa/wellness room, and arts and crafts rooms, and residents can join in on many daily activities, fitness programs, music sessions, and even resident-led events. Meals are prepared by professional chefs and meal planners, with special diets like diabetes and allergy-friendly options, and a dining room serving meals in a restaurant-style way, and staff help those who need extra support during meals. There's scheduled transportation for outings and appointments, guest parking, and move-in support to help new residents settle in. Medical support there is around the clock, with nurses, caregivers, and a 24-hour call system, and the staff speaks English and are known for offering good, caring support, especially for people with more complex needs like Parkinson's disease. Housekeeping, laundry, and even family support services are all part of daily life at Twin Oaks. Regular reviews mention clean spaces, good food, and a dedicated caregiving team that tries to work closely with residents and their families. The aim is to make a comfortable, safe place with personal support for each person, and activities and health programs are there to help everyone feel engaged and cared for, with safety and well-being always in mind.
