    Caring staff, beautiful community, reassuring

I placed my mom here and have been very pleased - the staff are caring, attentive and responsive, and the move-in was smooth. The community is beautiful and immaculate with roomy apartments, private baths, a lovely courtyard, on-site PT and salon, great meals and lively activities that keep residents engaged. I feel real peace of mind and would recommend it to other families.

    Summary of reviews

Edgeworth Park at New Town presents a split but clear profile: the community offers a polished, hotel-like environment with bright, spacious apartments, attractive common areas and outdoor spaces, and a broad slate of onsite amenities (therapy, salon, courtyard, and activity rooms). Many families describe attentive, compassionate caregivers, frequent nursing checks, a concierge-style front desk, and an active life-enrichment program featuring music, arts and crafts, outings, and regular social events. Dining is frequently praised for buffet offerings, desserts and live music in the dining room, and the facility offers practical conveniences such as laundry and housekeeping services.

At the same time, there are recurring operational concerns that prospective residents and families should evaluate. Medication administration and documentation are a persistent theme of concern, including missed or delayed doses and confusion among med technicians. Staffing stability is uneven: reviewers cite high turnover, intermittent understaffing during shifts, and gaps in overnight clinical coverage. These staffing patterns are tied to reports of slower response times, delays in personal care assistance, and variable communication tone from some employees. Several reviews also referenced management responsiveness problems, billing and charge disputes, and instances that prompted regulatory attention; reviewers described concern following a resident's death and related investigatory activity, indicating the importance of reviewing the facility's recent compliance history.

Programming and daily life are strengths for many residents but uneven in implementation. The community operates a robust activity schedule—exercise classes, happy hours, music, and special events—that contributes to a strong sense of community for engaged residents. Conversely, the memory-care unit is frequently described as offering limited engagement for some residents, with insufficiently active, individualized programming in certain contexts. Families should observe the memory-care environment directly, ask about the role and availability of a Memory Care Director, and request examples of individualized engagement plans.

Facilities and service delivery are generally well regarded cosmetically, but operational inconsistencies appear in housekeeping, laundry, and some sanitation controls. A number of reviewers noted sticky floors, odor concerns, and pest-control issues in specific areas, along with intermittent delays in linen and clothing care. Dining quality receives mixed feedback: many diners praise food and presentation, while others describe variability in meal quality, packaging practices, and upcharges or billing inconsistencies associated with food service.

Management and governance are another axis of contrast. Several families highlight responsive leadership, smooth move-ins, and helpful concierge coordination. Others describe unresponsiveness, delayed corrective action, inconsistent enforcement of policies (including camera and visitation procedures), and the effects of ownership/management transitions. Financial transparency is an area to probe: reviewers referenced billing errors, perceived double charges, and unexpected meal charges.

Bottom line: Edgeworth Park offers many attributes that appeal to prospective residents—modern, attractive spaces; a wide array of activities; on-site services; and numerous accounts of compassionate, dedicated staff. However, the facility also shows recurring operational vulnerabilities around medication management, staffing stability, memory-care engagement, sanitation consistency, and billing practices. Prospective residents and families should tour multiple times (including at activity hours), meet nursing leadership, review medication and incident protocols, confirm overnight clinical coverage and turnover statistics, ask for recent inspection or compliance records, and observe the memory-care neighborhood before making a placement decision.
