    RN-owned community with excellent care

My mom lived here for over six years and I strongly recommend this RN-owned community. Care has been consistently good-nurses protected residents, independent agencies gave high marks, staff are friendly and helpful, the facility is clean, and activities are excellent. It's close to Steel Lake, Town Square Parks and The Commons for easy walks and rolls; overall luxury living and I'm very satisfied with her care.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews present a mixed but specific profile: several elements of the facility are consistently praised — clinical ownership by an RN, friendly and helpful direct-care staff, a clean environment, active programming, and a convenient, walkable location near parks and town amenities. Multiple comments convey long-term family satisfaction (including a more-than-six-year recommendation) and mention favorable external evaluations and high consumer-style ratings.

Care quality and staff: Clinical leadership appears to be a visible feature of the home (RN ownership) and many comments highlight attentive, protective nursing practices and compassionate caregiving. At the same time, there are also statements indicating inconsistent clinical performance and at least one serious concern about care quality. That combination suggests variability in day-to-day care delivery: strengths in individual staff commitment coexist with episodes or perceptions of inadequate care. Prospective families should assess staffing stability, shift-to-shift consistency, and how clinical issues are escalated and reviewed.

Dining, activities, and facilities: Activities are a clear strength — reviewers describe an engaging activities program and opportunities for walks and outings to nearby parks and The Commons. The physical environment is described as clean and well maintained. Dining and meal-service quality are not specifically characterized in the available summaries, so no clear pattern can be drawn from the current material; an on-site observation of meals and menu variety is advisable during a visit.

Management and notable patterns: Management strengths include RN ownership and positive external agency evaluations, but summaries also contain very serious operational concerns: gaps in compliance with patients' rights and a cited safety risk linked to an unannounced group visit. These points indicate potential weaknesses in visitor screening, policy enforcement, and regulatory adherence. There is also mention of variability in oversight and occasional lapses in communication and responsiveness to families. Taken together, the pattern is one of generally strong interpersonal care and an active environment, coupled with intermittent or structural weaknesses in compliance, visitor management, and consistency.

Recommendations for prospective families: prioritize direct verification of regulatory records and patients'‑rights policies, ask for documentation of external agency evaluations, review visitor-access protocols, and request recent staffing and incident-response data. Observe care routines, mealtimes, and activities during a visit and speak with current families about consistency of care and communication practices. These steps will help clarify whether the facility's documented strengths align with consistent operational practices.

    About Luxury Living AFH

Luxury Living AFH sits in Federal Way, WA, and has six licensed beds, so things don't ever get too crowded and people can get to know each other if they want to, and each resident gets personalized attention. This place has a nurse and an EMT as owners, and that means health issues get a prompt response, and a nurse is on-call or on-site for comfort and safety. The home features both private rooms and shared units, each with grab bars, plenty of closets, cable and internet, air conditioning, and big patios you can ask for, while security is handled with keyless entry, emergency call buttons, fire sprinklers, and a generator for backup power, which makes families more at ease. Seniors here get help with daily tasks like transferring, dressing, continence management, bathing, medication management, blood glucose checks, help with oxygen, and more advanced care like tube feeding or catheter support if needed, and that's in addition to on-site lab, pharmacy, and regular doctor visits, plus podiatry appointments. There's a focus on memory care, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and care for developmental disabilities and mental health, with plans made for each resident instead of a one-size-fits-all approach. Residents have access to on-site rehabilitative therapy, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, along with monthly doctor check-ups and health assessments. The place is wheelchair and walker accessible, and you can bring a small pet if it brings you comfort, as long as it's not disruptive. They keep the homes clean with housekeeping, laundry, linen, and maintenance all done for you, so no one has to worry about chores. Meals are prepared with special diets in mind-there are snacks all day and a big dining hall where everyone can sit together, and they offer catering options for birthdays or special events. There's a pretty good activity schedule, with games, music, movies, exercise and range of motion classes, holiday parties, outings, board games, and all kinds of wellness programs-even Filipino TV channels and extra language support if your loved one prefers. If residents feel like reading, there's a quiet library and a computer area for those wanting to stay connected; family visiting rooms are cozy, and there are sitting areas all around for socializing. The home helps with transportation for shopping or doctor visits, and concierge services can handle personal requests or errands. They've got a hair salon, and help with grooming, so residents always feel comfortable and neat. The home is inspected and licensed, following all state rules (license numbers 750391 and 752309), and though they don't take Medicaid or Medicare, the care is aimed at long-term seniors, aged 55 and over, who want a peaceful, clean place to age in place and get what they need, whether it's social activities, special diets, end-of-life care, or even short-term respite if families need a break. The team does their best to keep everyone safe, healthy, busy, and part of a friendly group, with family and resident meetings so everyone can stay in touch and involved, while the staff works to keep the community warm and welcoming every day.
