    Compassionate attentive family-style home care

I placed my loved one in this beautiful, family-style home for over two years and was very pleased. The providers were hardworking, compassionate, and knowledgeable - attentive with meds, clear in communication, and treated residents like family. The house was clean, bright, and welcoming (kids and visitors felt at ease), meals were homemade and delicious, and end-of-life care was handled with dignity. I highly recommend checking this home out.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment: Reviews of Longview Adult Family Home LLC are overwhelmingly positive. Multiple reviewers describe the facility as a warm, home-like, family-oriented setting where residents are treated with compassion, dignity and individualized attention. The dominant themes are high-quality hands-on caregiving, strong personal relationships between staff and residents, reliable medical and hospice coordination, and consistently praised homemade dining. Families repeatedly report that the move to Longview was the best decision for their loved one and many explicitly 'highly recommend' the home.

Care quality and staff: Reviewers emphasize that caregiving is both compassionate and competent. Staff are described as attentive to daily needs (timely incontinence assistance, medication administration on time and accurately), responsive to small requests, and skilled at working with varied personalities and medical needs. Several accounts point to excellent coordination with hospice and comfort measures near end of life, including spiritual support (examples include staff praying with residents). Personalization shows up in concrete ways: staff learn and use residents' names, fulfill shopping lists and food preferences, and provide one-on-one attention. One caregiver, named Damaris in the reviews, received special mention for compassionate care. The provider and leadership are seen as present, respectful and hands-on; employees are described as appreciated, respected and well-compensated, which reviewers link to staff stability and continuity of care (one family cited a 2.5-year relationship).

Facilities and environment: Nearly every review highlights the home's cleanliness, comfortable private rooms, pleasant smells and the welcoming, family-like atmosphere. The setting is often described as peaceful and kid-friendly, with children present giving an intergenerational feel that reviewers found lively and comforting. Several families contrast Longview favorably with prior facilities, noting it feels more like a 'forever home' or a family home rather than an institutional setting. A consistent positive is that the house is well-maintained and beautifully presented. The main facility-related concern mentioned across reviews is a limited outdoor area; a few reviewers specifically said the home 'lacks outdoor area' and advised other families to tour if that amenity is important.

Dining and activities: Dining receives frequent praise — homemade meals, organic options, beautifully presented food and enticing smells are repeatedly noted. Reviewers specifically mention that meals taste great, are satisfying, and that staff are attentive to food preferences. Activities are described as family-centered and entertaining, including elaborate family get-togethers that make the environment lively and social. These elements contribute to families feeling comfortable leaving loved ones at Longview and visiting frequently.

Communication, transparency and value: Families report professional and clear communication from staff and management. Examples include prompt phone calls when residents need anything, transparent discussions about care, and respectful interactions with family members. One reviewer explicitly called out fair pricing and good value. Overall transparency, provider presence, and friendly professional communication are repeated as strengths that build trust.

Notable patterns and concerns: The reviews consistently emphasize relationship-driven, individualized care and an environment that blends medical competence with genuine homemaking. Recurrent specifics — medication accuracy, incontinence help, hospice support, respectful staff, and homemade meals — indicate operational strengths in both clinical and daily-living domains. The only recurring limitation raised is the lack of an outdoor area; otherwise there are virtually no consistent negative comments. A small number of reviewers noted that the home might not align with every family's preferences, reinforcing the recommendation that prospective families tour the home to confirm it meets their particular needs.

Conclusion: Longview Adult Family Home LLC presents as a small, well-run adult family home that prioritizes individualized, compassionate care, warm family engagement, and high-quality homemade dining. The staff and provider presence are repeatedly commended for professionalism, responsiveness and genuine warmth. Prospective families should strongly consider Longview for residents who will benefit from a home-like, intergenerational environment and attentive personal care; those prioritizing extensive outdoor amenities should verify the outdoor offerings during a tour.

About Longview Adult Family Home LLC

Longview Adult Family Home LLC gives care in a homelike setting for adults and seniors who need support with daily living, and over the years, folks have come to know places like The Havens, Rose Hill, Ocean Beach, The Walker House, A Time Honored, Angel's View, Pacific Country Home, Holly Care Homes, Cedar Gardens, Cedar Gardens II, Ullmann Family Homes, and Ullmann Senior Homes as part of their group. The homes have private rooms for up to six residents, and all settings aim to make everyone feel comfortable when they arrive, no matter their background or health needs. Trained and experienced staff offer help for those living with dementia, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, mental health concerns, and other issues, and they work with individualized care plans for each person. Longview Adult Family Home LLC provides meals made in the homes, snacks, laundry, housekeeping, medication management, and transportation setup, and residents get help with bathing, toileting, transferring, and mobility. There's an emergency call system, wheelchair accessibility, air conditioning, cable TV, WiFi, and even free newspapers or magazines. Some homes also do free massages or haircuts for private pay residents.

Everyone can join activities like bingo, movie nights, card games, gardening, puzzles, Bible study, crafts, karaoke, exercise, picnics, church visits, cooking, or holiday celebrations, and once in a while, the group may go out fishing or on little trips. On-site, there are regular home health visits from nurses, therapists, and dietitians, and people can get physical, occupational, and speech therapy in their rooms when needed. The care team keeps up with medication and doctor visits, helps apply for VA benefits, manages special diets, and offers fall prevention and movement programs, and for residents who require more advanced attention, they're ready to help with hospice or palliative care.

Most homes are near Altrusa Park in Longview, Washington, some in Kelso, and you're just a few miles from PeaceHealth Hospital and close to bus lines for visits. Both private pay and Medicaid are accepted, but Medicaid is an option after two years of private pay. The homes have spaces for both men and women and will make sure everyone has their own private room. The places go by different names, such as Adult Care Home, Adult Foster Home, Personal Care Home, or Assisted Living Home depending on the state, but the commitment to a family environment with attentive care remains the same. There's no grand promise, just steady attention and help for those who need to feel safe and well cared for in a small community home.
