    Excellent care, loving competent staff

I placed my grandmother here and I'm very pleased. The staff are kind, competent and well-staffed - they handled a complex PT situation effectively and kept us frequently updated; the young owners and caregivers are loving and receptive. The remodeled, spotless house has lovely bedrooms, views, an elevator, garden and back sundeck, home-cooked meals and plenty of activities - worth the money and I would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the reviews is positive, with repeated praise for the staff, the home's physical improvements, and the personal touches in care. Multiple reviewers emphasize that staff are kind, helpful, and competent; the facility is described as well staffed with caregivers on premises and owners who communicate frequently and are receptive to questions. One reviewer specifically cites effective handling of a complex physical-therapy situation and steady communication/updates from both owner and staff, which suggests reliable clinical responsiveness and good family engagement.

Facility and environment are commonly noted as strengths. Reviewers mention a recently remodeled, spotless, and well-maintained house with lovely bedrooms, good views, an elevator, a back sundeck, and an outside garden. There is also a separate family room for guests. The owners and director are described as young, enthusiastic, and actively involved (one reviewer notes the director presented the place), which appears to contribute to a welcoming atmosphere. Several comments indicate the home feels like a positive value and “worth the money.”

Daily life features are highlighted as another positive area. The home offers home-cooked meals and a program of activities including visiting musicians, arts and crafts, and games. Family participation is noted as high, which can enhance social engagement and continuity of care for residents. Caregivers are described as accommodating to special needs and loving toward residents, reinforcing the impression of personalized attention.

There are a few consistent concerns to weigh against the many positives. The most frequent operational limitation is the limited number of private rooms: multiple summaries note shared rooms are common and that a private room was unavailable for a prospective resident (a grandmother). Transportation resources appear limited as well — specifically, reviewers mention there is no van for resident transport. Social activity levels receive mixed feedback: while activities are offered, at least one reviewer perceived a low level of social interaction for their family member, indicating that the experience of engagement may vary by resident. Cleanliness is generally praised (several reviewers call the home spotless), but one summary raises cleanliness concerns, so impressions on housekeeping are not universally consistent.

In summary, the reviews portray Rosewood Adult Family Home as a warm, well-managed, and recently updated small home with strong, attentive staff and active owner involvement. Its strengths lie in personalized care, skilled handling of medical/therapy needs, clear communication with families, appealing physical spaces (sundeck, garden, elevator, nice bedrooms), and a home-cooked dining approach with a variety of activities. The main limitations to consider are structural and logistical: limited private room availability (shared rooms are typical), lack of on-site transportation (no van), and some variability in social engagement and cleanliness reports. Prospective families should be reassured by the consistent praise for staff competence and responsiveness, but they should confirm room availability, transportation options, and their loved one’s likely level of daily social interaction before deciding.

    About Rosewood Adult Family Home

Rosewood Adult Family Home sits in a quiet part of Normandy Park, WA, and has space for up to six residents, so folks get a home-like feel and personal attention, and you'll notice the place stays very clean with spotless rooms and well-kept common areas. The staff helps with daily living needs like moving, dressing, medication, incontinence, and even high acuity care, and they're awake and available all day and night, plus they handle complex medical situations with a nurse on call and an RN on standby. The building has studio apartments, one-bedroom suites, and semi-private quarters, as well as private bathrooms and wheelchair accessible showers, and there's strong attention to accessibility everywhere, including wide doorways and outdoor ramps for folks who use wheelchairs or need help getting around.

Meals get cooked right in the house, with a chef making food three times a day, and you can ask for special diets like kosher, vegetarian, organic, low sodium, or no sugar, and snacks show up throughout the day. There's a registered dietitian on staff who makes sure menus meet nutrition needs, and the food is made to bring comfort and a sense of home. There's a wellness center, a swimming pool, and a hot tub for when residents want to relax, plus a communal kitchen, game room, and gardens with paths for walking or jogging. Residents can join group activities, outings, gardening, karaoke, devotional services, and community service programs, and families can join in when they want. Rosewood AFH allows pets, as long as they fit the house rules. There's also Wi-Fi throughout, so keeping in touch with family and friends or watching favorite shows is easy.

Rosewood AFH has both private and semi-private rooms, and accepts both men and women, so folks can feel comfortable with the setup. Visiting hours run from 9am to 8pm, and the staff makes a big effort to communicate regularly with family, providing updates and answering any questions. They help with things like feeding if needed, moving, personal hygiene, and other daily routines, plus housekeeping and laundry, and the home has a strict no-smoking rule indoors. There's help for dementia, mental health, developmental disabilities, and Alzheimer's care, and therapists come in for occupational, physical, and speech therapies. Hospice care, respite or short-term stays, and complimentary transportation show Rosewood covers many bases for seniors who need help, even for those who can't walk or have complex medical care needs.

You'll notice people mention that staff are helpful and kind, and that Rosewood takes the time to keep everyone comfortable and safe-staff handle medicine management, there's a beauty and barber shop on site, and residents have access to both doctor and dentist visits. Parking is set aside for residents, and there's plenty of outdoor space if residents want to enjoy sunshine or tend the gardens. Licensed under #752217, Rosewood Adult Family Home is an adult family home, also called a Board and Care Home, and it meets requirements set by Washington state and King County. The place doesn't accept Medicare unless there's CMS certification, but it does make sure residents get personal and thoughtful care, so families feel a sense of calm knowing loved ones have good support.
