    Seamless move, excellent meals, welcoming

I moved my mom in and have been very pleased - staff like Betsy and Kait made the transition effortless, the cottage is lovely and private, and Chef Sarah's meals are consistently excellent. Grounds, housekeeping and maintenance are well kept, activities are varied, and the community feels welcoming and secure.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The reviews present Country Meadows as a well-regarded, high-end senior living community with consistently strong praise for its staff, dining, facilities, and programming. Across multiple reviews the standout theme is the staff — described as caring, respectful, knowledgeable, and personally engaged with residents. Reviewers repeatedly note staff who learn residents' names, lift spirits, and provide both practical help (grocery shopping, medication pickup, rides to doctors) and emotional support, including sensitive communication during dementia transitions. Named staff members (for example Harley, Cindy, Chris, Chef Sarah, Peggy, Betsy) are highlighted as exemplars, which reinforces the perception of individualized, personal service.

Care quality and staff: Care quality is depicted as excellent. CNAs and other caregivers are described as thorough, respectful, and attentive, with staff keeping families informed during medical or cognitive declines. Multiple reviewers emphasized dignity and attentiveness in care, describing the community as welcoming and open. Staff responsiveness extends beyond clinical care to housekeeping, maintenance, and front-desk interactions — repairs are described as prompt and professional and grounds are noted as well kept. The move-in process is frequently described as smooth and supportive, with staff assisting families through logistics and linking them to community services.

Dining and food service: Dining is a clear strength. Reviews consistently praise food quality, presentation, and variety — reviewers mention two chefs, monthly brunches, four-course dinners, generous portions, and tasty bakery items like cookies. Dietary accommodations are available and meal staff are singled out for professional, friendly service. The culinary program is described as a draw and a point of pride; several comments framed the meals as "worth every penny," reinforcing the premium positioning of the community.

Facilities, living options, and maintenance: The community offers private cottages and apartments with larger-than-average floor plans and a distinct cottage atmosphere that many reviewers love. Amenities mentioned include a salt-water/swimming therapy pool, The Big Red Barn, basement activity spaces, well-maintained grounds and gardens, and events like tomato-growing contests. Housekeeping is regular (weekly) and maintenance is prompt. The physical environment is frequently described as inviting, cheerful, comfortable, and well organized.

Activities and social life: Reviewers emphasize a robust activity calendar that addresses physical, mental, and social needs: exercise classes, music offerings, store trips, movies, memorial gatherings, gardening, contests, and regular social dining. Activities are described as well-run and meaningful, helping residents feel engaged and part of a community. Social opportunities and the friendliness of fellow residents are mentioned as contributing to peace of mind and the feeling that residents are treated like family.

Management and governance concerns: While the overall tone toward staff is very positive, several reviews raise concerns about higher-level management decisions. Specific complaints include management changes made without resident input, relocation of activities, and a library space being cut in half. Some reviewers perceive a shift toward prioritizing financial considerations over resident preferences. These points do not appear to reflect the day-to-day caregiving staff but rather administrative choices that have affected amenities or resident consultation.

Cost, occupancy, and demand: Multiple reviews position Country Meadows as a higher-end option with correspondingly higher pricing. While many residents and families say the services and quality justify the cost, the price point is highlighted as a potential barrier. The community is reported to be at or near full occupancy with waiting lists, which signals strong demand but can delay move-ins and make immediate availability an issue for prospective residents.

Net assessment: The dominant sentiment is strongly positive — Country Meadows is repeatedly described as offering excellent care, outstanding food, a warm community atmosphere, engaging activities, and well-kept facilities staffed by compassionate and professional employees. The main negatives are structural/administrative: concerns about management decisions made without resident input, some loss/reconfiguration of amenity space (e.g., library), and the premium cost and limited availability. For prospective residents or families who prioritize high-quality dining, personalized staff attention, varied programming, and attractive private living options and who are comfortable with higher pricing and possible limited immediate availability, Country Meadows appears to be a highly recommended option. Families especially value the staff's ability to ease transitions and maintain dignity and connection for residents.

    About Country Meadows

Country Meadows sits in Silverdale, close to hospitals and doctors, and you'll find it's the kind of place where seniors can live how they want, so if someone's healthy and likes staying active, the independent living options might work well, as those include one- and two-bedroom cottages with things like full kitchens, washers and dryers, spacious bathrooms, and gas fireplaces in two-bedroom units, and the grounds are cared for so nobody has to do yard work, plus there's weekly housekeeping, linen service, and maintenance, which can make life a bit easier. Meals come prepared by chefs and served in a dining room, with evening table-side service, choice of entrée, and even a continental breakfast, so you won't have to worry about cooking all the time, and there's meal delivery if you want to eat at home. Staff are around 24/7 in case there's an emergency, and they do things like help people move from bed to wheelchair and check insulin levels.

You'll see folks at Country Meadows doing all sorts of things together, like playing bingo in The Big Red Barn, gardening, swimming, water aerobics, going on shopping trips, or just stopping by for car shows or holiday BBQs, and there are activities year-round-happy hours, cribbage, Scrabble nights, guest speakers on health or finances, even spring planting events-so it's easy to get to know people if you want to. For those who need more help, there's assisted living and skilled nursing care, plus special programs for people with Alzheimer's or other memory problems with secure areas to keep residents safe and reduce confusion, and that type of care includes things like medication help, bathing, and meal support.

The campus has spaces for socializing indoors, and transportation's offered for doctor visits and outings, so seniors can still get out without driving. If someone wants to stay at home instead, Country Meadows also has home care with aides for companionship or non-medical help, and there are care homes in neighborhood settings for those who need live-in support. People who live here can age in place, which means they can add more help as their needs change without moving out, so whether someone is looking for independent living, memory care, rehab care, hospice, or nursing support, there's usually a way to fit changing needs with what Country Meadows offers.
