    Kind staff, clean, comfortable care

As a caregiver I was genuinely impressed - the Director and Marketing team are fabulous, staff are kind and compassionate, and my parents are comfortable living together in bright, clean apartments with plenty of natural light. Meals are made from scratch and delicious, there are three daily meals plus weekly laundry/sheet changes and regular cleaning, many social activities and outings, shuttle/transportation and in-house services like a weekly stylist. It feels home-like, well-maintained and staff are consistently helpful - I'm grateful for the care my mother receives and would recommend checking it out.

    Summary of reviews

Aster Assisted Living of Clintonville presents as a well-appointed, socially active assisted living option with consistently positive feedback on staff, communal life, and facility upkeep. Families and visitors frequently describe staff and leadership as friendly, accessible, and supportive; admissions and marketing personnel are repeatedly noted as helpful during touring and move-in. Caregivers are characterized as kind and compassionate, and several accounts indicate residents are receiving appropriate assistance with daily needs.

The community provides a range of apartment choices from studios to two-bedroom units, including some with kitchenettes or full kitchens. Common spaces are described as large and comfortable, with features such as a fireplace and bright rooms with natural light. On-site services include a weekly hair stylist and beauty shop, regular housekeeping and laundry, daily or near-daily trash pickup, and scheduled transportation and shuttle services for local errands and organized day trips. Social programming appears robust, with happy hours, seasonal events, parade views from the Main Street location, and other resident-focused activities that contribute to a home-like atmosphere for many residents.

Dining experiences are mixed across accounts: the facility operates a three-meal-a-day program with meals prepared from scratch, and some reviewers praise the food as fresh and delicious, while others describe it as bland or inconsistent. This variation suggests that dining quality may differ by meal, kitchen staffing, or individual expectation. Cleanliness and maintenance are generally viewed positively, although a few comments raise odor concerns in some common areas and an overall institutional feel in certain parts of the building; these observations point to variability in environmental experience depending on location within the facility.

Operationally, the community has some limitations prospective residents should consider. Monthly cost is described as relatively high compared with nearby alternatives, and transportation services appear concentrated within the Clintonville area rather than providing broader regional coverage. A practical consideration for clinical continuity is that new residents may need to change external medical providers to accommodate the community’s care network, which could be disruptive for some families. Unit sizes in some floor plans are noted as small and some apartments lack in-room cooking options, which may affect residents seeking more independent living arrangements.

In summary, Aster Assisted Living of Clintonville is regularly commended for its supportive staff, active social life, and well-maintained common areas, making it a strong option for families prioritizing interpersonal care and programming. Prospective residents should balance those strengths against higher pricing, mixed dining reports, limited transportation reach, occasional environmental concerns, and potential requirements to change medical providers when evaluating fit. A tour and detailed discussion with admissions about meal plans, unit layouts, provider arrangements, and transportation range are recommended to determine whether the facility meets specific care and lifestyle needs.
