About Orient Adult Foster Care Home

Orient Adult Foster Care Home sat in a quiet part of Gresham, Oregon, not far from the Washington border and provided a small, home-like setting for seniors who needed help with things like dressing, bathing, grooming, medicine, and getting around, and it ran for over twenty-two years before it closed in January 2022. The place had a warm feel, almost like someone's own house, with just two licensed beds, so it stayed cozy and less crowded, and had a business management team led by Mr. Adrian Catuna, Mrs. Elena Catuna, and at one time, Robert Laygo owned it. It gave seniors care with respect, offering both private and semiprivate rooms, each with its own bathroom and wheelchair-accessible shower, and the whole place had air conditioning, Wi-Fi, satellite or cable TV, and handicap access. Residents could do things each day like gardening, art workshops, classes with movement, parties, religious services, watch movies in the theater, play games, or spend time outdoors in a patio garden. They could join others in the community dining room and pick low-salt or sugar-free meals, and staff even brought meals to rooms if needed. The caregivers helped with high-acuity care, memory care, Alzheimer's care, medication, and even supported those needing hospice, non-ambulatory help, or incontinence care, and the house always had fully-trained staff and nurses available as needed, with staff focused on safety, helping people feel respected, and providing room service, housekeeping, laundry, and grocery shopping. The place allowed both men and women, had no smoking inside, and let pets stay in the home. There was free transportation for trips, too. Social activities supported friendships between residents and staff, and many people wrote positive reviews about the care, which had a 100% five-star rating from six reviews and an overall 9.0 score from three reviewers, so families often said the care kept everyone's needs in mind while keeping things personal and friendly. The Orient Adult Foster Care Home did its work as part of the Oregon Department of Human Services' network and followed strict rules as an LLC, and even though the home closed, many appreciated its years of service helping seniors live with comfort and dignity.
