    Safe, loving, attentive, spotless, worthwhile

My dad feels safe, loved, and truly treated like family here. The staff are personable, very involved, and dedicated - the supportive, emotionally secure environment has eased my caregiver worry. It's spotless and the food is excellent; the only downside is the higher price for the small-group setting, which we've found worth it.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews present a mixed picture of A Marine Hills Adult Family Home LLC. Positive commentary emphasizes the home’s small size, which families linked to a family-like atmosphere, personalized attention, and strong caregiver–resident rapport. Several comments highlight clean common areas, a personable and dedicated caregiver team, emotionally supportive relationships that reduced family caregiver anxiety, and a high standard of meals. Families described active involvement with their relatives and a sense of emotional security within the setting.

At the same time, there are substantive operational concerns that warrant attention. Multiple accounts point to gaps in clinical processes: specifically, weaknesses in medication-management protocols (including handling, administration, and storage), shortfalls in infection-control and hygiene practices, and deficiencies in incontinence care and skin-integrity prevention. Relatedly, reviewers described delays or inadequate clinical assessment and escalation, suggesting potential limits in staff training, clinical oversight, or access to additional medical support when needs change.

Housekeeping and sanitation practices were noted as inconsistent in some accounts, contrasting with other remarks that described the home as clean; this suggests variability in environmental maintenance rather than a uniformly reliable system. The combination of small-group staffing and an emphasis on a personalized model appears to come with higher costs, which prospective families should weigh against the facility’s operational strengths and weaknesses.

Taken together, the pattern is one of strong relational and emotional support from caregivers and a comfortable, small-scale environment, offset by concerns about clinical consistency and procedural controls. Prospective residents and families should consider asking the provider about written medication-management policies, infection-control training and compliance, skin-care and incontinence protocols, staff-to-resident ratios and escalation pathways for clinical changes, and routine housekeeping schedules. Reviewing recent inspection or licensing records and requesting references from current families can also help evaluate whether the facility’s strengths align with a prospective resident’s clinical and psychosocial needs.

About A Marine Hills Adult Family Home LLC

A Marine Hills Adult Family Home LLC sits on the outskirts of Federal Way, Washington, near Redondo Beach, right by PowellsWood Garden and across from Marine Hills Pool, in a quiet residential area where only three residents can live at any time, so everyone gets plenty of individual attention and really becomes part of the household. The home holds a Washington state license for assisted living and memory care, with a special focus on seniors who need extra help with daily routines like bathing, dressing, hygiene, meals, and medication, as well as those living with Alzheimer's or dementia, since staff members know how to handle wandering and complicated behavior, using a wander alert system and alarms so everyone stays safe. The caregivers, including nurses and aides, are there all day and night, helping with lifts, two-person transfers, blood sugar checks, insulin, and support for those with incontinence, and you see a dentist, doctor, nurse, or podiatrist when needed, even if you can't get out on your own. Residents stay in private rooms with their own bathrooms, and all the showers are easy to use with a wheelchair, and there's space inside and outside to relax or join in activities-like music therapy, animal visits, exercise, games, fitness classes, or just reading and enjoying the weather-which really keeps folks connected, especially when outings or devotional activities off site come up, and transportation is available, along with parking for those who drive. The meals are home-cooked three times a day, and they'll make special versions for folks who need kosher, vegetarian, or diabetic-friendly options, and even a mobile stylist sometimes comes for a trim or wash so people feel their best. Pets are welcome, especially small dogs, with some pet care provided, and there's all sorts of comforts you don't always find, like a hot tub, sauna room, community activities in the evening, and both indoor and outdoor places set up for safe wandering or fresh air. The staff know their residents well and try to keep seniors engaged and happy, with a schedule full of things to do, proper safety in place, and care that's adjusted as needs change-so if memory issues or mobility get worse, folks can still age in place. Visitation runs from 9:00am to 8:00pm, and everyone says the atmosphere is friendly, welcoming, and focused on not just health, but true comfort, meals made with good ingredients, and a sense of family, all in a homey setting for older adults who need extra help to stay safe and well.
