    About Rosecrans Villa

Rosecrans Villa sits in the Moneta Gardens area in Hawthorne, California, and offers a residential care facility for seniors and adults with mental or physical disabilities who need some help but don't need a skilled nursing home, so you'll find they're licensed as a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly, also known as an RCFE, and they're approved for the Medi-Cal Assisted Living Waiver (ALW) program, which means they take residents on SSI/SSP benefits, private pay, and Medi-Cal, and they have 135 beds. People who stay at Rosecrans Villa can choose from studios, semi-private, and one-bedroom apartments, and the monthly rent covers food, room, board, medication management, and housekeeping, so you don't have surprise fees for those services that some places tack on later, and you can have a kitchenette in your room if you want to prepare snacks, but the staff makes meals for everyone in the community dining facilities that meet special diets. Caregivers are around 24 hours a day, whether someone needs help with walking, bathing, dressing, grooming, transfers between bed and wheelchair, or toileting, and they'll help residents with diabetic care as long as the person can handle their own insulin, since staff can only help check and monitor blood sugar, and they're also able to help with incontinence care if residents can manage it themselves. The nurses on staff, who are licensed vocational nurses, will help with medical needs as ordered by each person's doctor, but if someone needs skilled nursing care around the clock, this probably isn't the place for them. Rosecrans Villa features both assisted living and retirement community services, as well as hospice and memory care for those who need it, working to help people have independence and dignity while keeping them safe with an emergency response system and trained staff. The indoor and outdoor common areas, like a garden, patios, walking paths, a fitness room, art and movie rooms, and a library, give residents room to move around, attend group activities, or join fitness classes, and there's also free on-site parking, guest parking, community transportation, and special medical transport. The facility has a spa, a barber and salon, a TV area, internet access, and music and movie programs, so there's something to do most days, and residents can take part in social and entertainment activities if that's what they want, but they can always have time to themselves too. Rosecrans Villa doesn't turn anyone away based on race, color, religion, gender, age, disability, orientation, military status, or source of income, and legal protections for LGBTQ adults and those with various income sources are in place. Housekeeping, laundry, linen service, move-in coordination, and family support are all part of what's available, and the rooms come furnished with private bathrooms, air conditioning, TVs, cable, phone, and high-speed Wi-Fi, but if you have specific questions about parking, utilities, or some of the smaller features, those aren't easily found. Staff try to create a homelike setting where people can feel comfortable, meet friends, get help with the things they need, and maintain their self-esteem while staying as independent as possible, and with supervision, assistance for daily life, and both planned and resident-run activities, most residents find what they're looking for in a quiet, respectful place.
