    Friendly staff, clean affordable community

I toured this welcoming, home-like community and was impressed by the exceptionally friendly staff. My two-bedroom apartment has a nice kitchen, ample closets and a quiet location, and the activities-bingo, card games, puzzles and a small library-keep residents engaged. A Place for Mom helped arrange the visit, and I would recommend this clean, affordable facility near stores and restaurants.

    Summary of reviews

Overview: Reviewers consistently describe Anderson Farms Apartments as a quiet, home-like independent living option with an emphasis on safety and a clean environment. Staff interactions are frequently characterized as friendly and welcoming, and the community offers a basic suite of on-site social activities and controlled access for security.

Care and staff: Families and residents emphasize positive staff–resident interactions; the tone of comments suggests staff are courteous and supportive. However, there are recurring notes about staffing levels — specifically gaps in management and maintenance capacity — that may affect responsiveness to requests and routine maintenance. Prospective residents should inquire directly about current staffing models and response-time expectations.

Dining: Reviews do not provide detailed, consistent feedback about dining services. Given the lack of commentary, families should ask the community for specifics about meal programs, menus, dietary accommodations, and whether meal service is included or billed separately.

Activities and engagement: The community offers several on-site, low- to moderate-intensity activities (bingo, card games, puzzles, library access). These offerings support residents who prefer quieter, indoor engagement. At the same time, there is a clear pattern pointing to limited programming for highly active seniors and a lack of regular transportation or organized off-site outings; families seeking frequent outings or an extensive activity calendar should verify available options.

Facilities and apartments: Physical spaces are described as clean and well maintained, with some units offering two-bedroom layouts, functional kitchens, and ample closet space. Unit sizes are described as modest, and several comments characterize apartments as smaller than average; floorplan size should be confirmed during a tour to ensure it meets the prospective resident's needs.

Management and operations: Placement assistance (for example, through placement services) and guided tours are available and praised for being helpful. Operationally, staffing shortages—particularly in management and maintenance—appear to be the most consistent operational weakness noted; this may influence maintenance turnaround times and managerial accessibility. Pricing perceptions are mixed: some find the community affordable, while others consider it expensive. Ask for a clear breakdown of fees, what is included, and any ancillary charges.

Notable patterns and recommendation guidance: Strengths include a quiet setting, guarded entry, a welcoming staff culture, cleanliness, and proximity to local shopping. Primary weaknesses are constrained transportation/outings, limited activity offerings for highly active residents, smaller apartment sizes, and variability in perceived value relative to cost. Prospective residents should schedule an in-person tour, request a current activity calendar, confirm transportation and outing schedules, review staffing levels and response protocols, and obtain a detailed fee schedule before making a decision.

    About Anderson Farms Apartments

Anderson Farms Apartments sits at 1500 Briarcliff Road in Montgomery, IL, and offers a country setting with quiet surroundings, and if someone wants to, they can see the place for themselves on a tour, with both staff and current residents around to answer questions and show what life there's really like, and folks can walk through common areas, look at photos, and check out the actual suites, which come as one or two bedrooms with one or two bathrooms, some with walk-in showers, some with combo tub-shower units, and all with full kitchens, carpeted flooring in living spaces, ceramic tiles in bathrooms, and each apartment has its own heat and air conditioning controls, so whatever the season, residents stay comfortable. Anderson Farms Apartments welcomes people 55 and older who need anything from independent living to assisted living and memory care, with added options like continuing care, respite care, nursing homes, home care, and care homes, meeting a wide range of support and assistance needs, and they let people bring pets if they follow the pet deposit and size limits, so someone with a small dog or a cat can still have their companion with them. The apartments come with simple, straightforward features like a fireside lounge, a TV lounge, an on-site library, a beauty salon, and a community room, and there's a laundry room right on the premises, so no need to leave the building for chores, and the garage parking is covered, with one space included in the monthly rent, plus the rent covers heat, water, garbage, and sewer, saving on extra bills each month. There are outside features too, with a lawn, a garden, and a pond, and residents who enjoy gardening can tend their own garden beds, which is a nice touch for people who like spending time outdoors, and there's a keypad entry system for extra security. The community has accessible rooms and spaces in mind and keeps things easy to get around for the people living there, making sure seniors with different skills can feel comfortable and still get around. Anderson Farms Apartments has programs and daily activities aimed at helping people stay active and connected with other residents, but some areas are quieter and may suit people who prefer not to be very active, so it fits a variety of lifestyles, letting some people jump into social events while others take it easy in their apartments or common areas. The facility's staff trains to help with daily needs and to be there for residents and their families, giving help when needed while respecting each person's wish for independence, and with internet available, it's possible for someone to stay in touch with friends and family online, watch shows, or read the news. The whole place tries to give off a home-like feeling, making it as comfortable and familiar as possible, and people can come see everything for themselves before making any decisions.
