    Clean quiet 55+ community amenities

I'm on the second floor and everything I need is here: an in-unit washer/dryer and dishwasher, underground parking, and a very clean, quiet 55+ community. The manager is knowledgeable, neighbors are friendly, and the community area offers daily activities and morning coffee - overall I'm very pleased living here.

    Summary of reviews

Meadow Grove presents as a small, quiet 55+ community with a strong social culture. Reviewers emphasize a family-like atmosphere, an active daily activities program, well-kept outdoor space, and approachable management. Many residents appreciate in-unit conveniences such as washers, dryers, and dishwashers, as well as access to underground parking and common areas that provide morning beverages and social opportunities.

Staff and care impressions are generally positive: management is described as knowledgeable and friendly, and interpersonal interactions are characterized as respectful. The active schedule and community programming appear to contribute positively to resident quality of life. There are, however, expressed concerns about overall resident safety and welfare oversight that prospective residents and families should clarify with the provider during a tour or meeting.

Facilities and maintenance are a mixed picture. The property is described as older, and reviewers note aging infrastructure elements — including older appliances, plumbing issues, and an elevator showing age-related reliability concerns. Exterior lighting and some maintenance reliability issues were also mentioned; cleanliness comments were inconsistent, suggesting variability between units or common areas. Prospective residents should inspect units in person and ask about recent capital improvements and ongoing maintenance plans.

Financial considerations are a recurring theme. Rent and ancillary fees (including parking and utilities) are described as relatively high in relation to the building’s condition by some reviewers; heating and electric costs are also noted as significant. While underground parking is available, parking fees are viewed as expensive. Prospective residents should request a clear breakdown of monthly charges, historical utility averages, and any fee escalation policies.

In summary, Meadow Grove appears to offer a warm, social environment with convenient in-unit amenities and an active programming calendar, beneficial for residents seeking engagement in a 55+ setting. At the same time, the aging physical plant, inconsistent upkeep, and pricing/utility concerns represent important trade-offs. Recommended next steps for families and prospective residents include a unit walk-through, review of recent maintenance/inspection records, clarification of safety and emergency protocols, and obtaining a written fee and utility estimate before making a decision.
