    Modern hotel-like community with amenities

I moved into this modern, hotel-like community and I'm very happy overall. The building and apartments are clean and spacious, meals are chef-designed with restaurant-style dining, and the staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. There are daily activities-swim and water exercise, musical programs, pub/social hour with complimentary drinks, trips (grocery/Walmart/Target), and strong rehab/medical services and transportation. It's an upbeat, supportive independent-living option worth touring (there is a $3,000 entrance fee).

    Summary of reviews

New Perspective Senior Living - Sun Prairie presents a clear contrast between its physical environment and some aspects of clinical and day-to-day care operations. The community is consistently described as modern, upscale and well appointed: spacious apartments (many with kitchenettes), large windows and abundant natural light, a saltwater therapy pool and comprehensive rehab services are recurring strengths. The building and common areas are frequently characterized as clean and hotel-like, with amenities such as a salon, gym, library, pub/bistro and robust social spaces that support an active lifestyle for independent residents.

Dining and activities are strong selling points for many families. Reviewers commonly praise restaurant-style dining, chef-prepared menu options, frequent social meals, happy hour offerings and a broad calendar of classes, trips and events. Therapy and rehabilitation services (PT/OT/speech) receive positive remarks for enabling functional improvements. At the same time, there are consistent remarks about variability in food quality, portioning, and mealtime supervision for residents who require assistance; families considering higher-care levels should ask specifically about supervised mealtimes and assistance protocols.

Care quality and staffing present the most significant pattern of concern. While many front-line staff are described as personable and caring, reviewers also describe inconsistent staffing levels, frequent turnover, and training gaps—most notably in the memory-care unit. Operational consequences noted include delays in medication administration, lapses in documentation and family notification, inconsistent personal-care assistance (bathing and dressing schedules), incontinence-care delays, and uneven housekeeping and laundry services. Several accounts signal gaps in clinical coverage during weekends and nights; prospective residents with higher care needs should verify current staffing models, clinical oversight hours, and emergency response protocols.

Safety and supervision issues are another recurring theme. Reviewers describe fall incidents, exit-door supervision concerns, and other situations that point to weaknesses in fall-prevention and resident-supervision systems. These items suggest the facility may benefit from stronger routine physical checks, more consistent transfer and mobility protocols, and clearer family communication following any clinical incidents. Families often report needing to provide additional oversight or advocacy when a resident requires closer monitoring.

Management, communication and pricing draw mixed feedback. Some families commend the administration for helpful, responsive interactions and transition support; others describe a disconnect between management and direct-care staff, occasional billing errors, opaque fee increases, and perceived misalignment between marketing promises and operational realities. Visitor-policy rigidity and weekend leadership availability were also raised as concerns. Prospective residents should request detailed, written explanations of fees, staffing ratios, visitation policies, and escalation pathways for clinical or service concerns.

In summary, New Perspective Sun Prairie offers a high-quality physical environment, extensive amenities, and strong programming for independent and rehabilitation-focused residents. However, for families seeking assisted living or specialized memory care, the pattern of inconsistent staffing, training gaps, and operational variability indicates a need for careful due diligence. When touring, focus questions on current staffing ratios and turnover, memory-care staff training, medication-administration procedures and auditing, mealtime assistance protocols, housekeeping and laundry schedules, emergency response times, and the facility’s fee and billing practices. These clarifications will help match the community’s strengths to an individual resident’s care needs and expectations.
