Eamc Lanier Nursing Home sits next to EAMC-Lanier Rural Emergency Hospital and offers 103 beds that are certified for both skilled and intermediate nursing care, so the very frail and folks needing rehab between hospital and home can get attention. Residents can choose private or semi-private rooms, and each room has a bed, bathroom, chest of drawers, bedside table, and a chair, with nurse call lights set up in the rooms and bathrooms. The staff includes licensed nurses around the clock, visiting physicians, a registered dietitian, a licensed social worker, and a licensed beautician, so folks get regular check-ins, daily care, and help with things like haircuts, meals, and medical plans. The care team meets with residents and their families to talk about care needs, medicine plans, and to help get ready for discharge when it's time. Social Services steps in to help families with planning and paperwork when someone is going home.
Meals are served in dining rooms on each floor, and families can join residents for a meal if they let the Dietary department know ahead of time. There's a visiting lounge on each floor, plus a fenced patio and a separate activities area, so people get out of their rooms when they want company. Residents can get their mail delivered each day and laundry's done daily for all linens and their clothes. The activities team organizes things like fall festivals, country fairs, family Christmas parties, and events like "Adopt-a-Resident for Christmas" and "Adopt-a-Grandparent" to encourage visits and community ties. Residents are welcome to visit with loved ones outside the facility as long as it's okay for their health.
Eamc Lanier Nursing Home connects to many other EAMC-Lanier health services, so residents have quick access to things like emergent care, laboratory services, diagnostic imaging, cardiac rehab, diabetes services, infusion, pain management, respiratory care, skin care, optometry, and podiatry. There's therapy in-house from RehabWorks, with physical, occupational, and speech therapy. The campus has an ambulatory surgery center and emergency hospital, serving the area since 1950, and connects residents with outpatient rehab and more, depending on what each person needs during their stay. The home shares news and events on Facebook. Admission usually follows a physician's referral, and the team keeps families informed every step of the way.
