    Caring staff and clean apartments

I'm very pleased with Valley Park Manor - my aunt works there and I see firsthand how caring, responsive, and communicative the staff are, led by an outstanding, accessible director and knowledgeable nurses. The smaller, affordable facility is clean and well-run with spacious apartments (fridge/microwave/shower), good food, activities, and attentive assistants; it fits my loved one's personality perfectly and I would highly recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Valley Park Manor presents as a small-to-midsize assisted living and memory-care community with a generally positive profile for family-centered communication, hands‑on caregiving, and basic amenities. Reviewers emphasize accessible leadership and a director who is easy to contact, along with caregiving staff described as kind, attentive, and engaged. The facility maintains an on-site nursing presence and staff who explain medications and care plans, which supports families’ sense of oversight and involvement.

Care and staffing are recurring strengths. Families describe staff as approachable and responsive, and many noted prompt answers to questions and willingness to address concerns. Nursing competency on duty and thoroughness in medication discussions are highlighted. The community’s smaller size is often framed as an advantage, allowing staff to form personal connections with residents and maintain a more individualized care approach.

Dining and activities are adequate for residents who value routine and social engagement. The facility offers three meals a day, multiple dining spaces, and common areas for card games, puzzles, reading, and a library. Several reviewers found the food appealing and enjoyed the communal opportunities. That said, dining areas are described as relatively small in places, which could feel constrained during peak mealtimes or for larger family visits.

Facilities and maintenance show a mixed picture. Common areas, courtyards, and patios are frequently described as clean and attractive, and rooms generally provide functional amenities such as a fridge, microwave, and private bath. However, there is variability in room condition: some units are spacious and well-presented while others show dated finishes or need repainting. The memory-care section in particular is characterized as older and less updated compared with other parts of the community.

Operational and safety patterns to note include property-security and supervision concerns. Multiple comments indicate instances of missing personal items and doors being left unsecured, creating elopement risk for residents with memory impairment. These point to underlying gaps in security protocols and supervision patterns rather than isolated cleanliness issues. Additional operational gaps include limited resident transportation services and occasional administrative inaccuracies in records or paperwork. One more serious theme raised relates to potential regulatory compliance shortcomings around privacy and workplace safety; families should request documentation of current compliance and policies during tours.

Overall, Valley Park Manor appears well regarded for compassionate caregiving, clear family communication, affordable pricing, and a comfortable small‑community atmosphere. Prospective residents and families should weigh those strengths against observed variability in room upkeep, dining-space constraints, transportation limitations, and the noted security and compliance concerns. During a visit, focus questions on memory-care upgrades, room maintenance schedules, property-security protocols, transportation options, and evidence of regulatory compliance to ensure the community’s operational practices align with your expectations.

About Valley Park Manor Assisted Living & Memory Care

Valley Park Manor Assisted Living & Memory Care offers seniors a home-like environment where people can keep their hobbies and interests, and the place has both assisted living and memory care services for those who need help with daily living or special support for Alzheimer's and dementia. Residents live in private apartments with their own bathrooms, heating, and air conditioning, plus a kitchenette and refrigerator, and there's cable and internet in every unit, as well as emergency call systems, smoke alarms, and sprinklers throughout, which makes the building safe and comfortable even though it looks a little older. Staff stay on site around the clock, helping residents with things like bathing, dressing, laundry, meals, and medication, and memory care areas have extra security and special layouts to keep everyone safe and prevent wandering, so people with memory impairments don't feel lost or confused. The team includes caregivers, a medical director who visits every month, a nurse, and a licensed dietician, and everyone's used to helping those with dementia, which you can see in things like daily activities meant to support mind and body, therapy for memory challenges, and strong bonds built between staff and both residents and their families. Valley Park Manor welcomes pets and has outside walking paths, a courtyard, and a hair salon on site, offering activities like Sunday Brunch, Family Night, and private parties so people can make new friends or enjoy old ones, and there are religious services along with rides to stores, doctor visits, and events around town. Residents enjoy three nutritious meals a day in a shared dining room, and the place takes care of housekeeping and laundry, while those able can choose independent living options like apartments, condos, or even a duplex if they want more space. Memory care residents get a higher level of medical oversight, and the activities and layout focus on lessening confusion, keeping routines, and encouraging engagement, with plenty of support for any hearing aid, cell phone, or cable needs someone might have, plus safety gear like medication dispensers and medical alert systems in case something goes wrong. The whole community follows Fair Housing rules and works to make everyone feel included and respected, and for those looking for cost details, there's an entry fee of $800 and guidance for paying for care is available. People who come here often say the staff pay good attention, keep the spaces clean and easy to move around, and make real efforts to help everyone keep up with what they love, whether that means a puzzle in the common room, walking a pet, or joining a holiday meal.
