I'm very pleased with the remodeled, clean rooms and the caring, attentive staff who respond promptly and run the community efficiently. Therapy is effective, the gym is excellent, and organized activities like bingo and movie night keep residents engaged; office and caregivers are friendly and efficient. Convenient location and nearby parking make visits easy - overall I'm happy and would recommend.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews present a mixed but informative picture of Preferred Care at Hamilton. Many families and residents praise the facility for its approachable caregiving staff, clean renovated rooms, and a well-equipped therapy area; these strengths are coupled with a convenient location and on-site parking. At the same time, a subset of experiences raises substantive operational concerns that prospective residents and their families should evaluate further with the facility and through regulatory records.

Care and staff: Positive comments emphasize attentive, friendly caregivers and staff who take pride in their work; several reviewers highlighted prompt responses to calls and staff who create a comfortable atmosphere for residents. Conversely, other accounts point to inconsistent responsiveness, particularly across different halls and shifts. Those accounts describe delays in attending to resident needs and instances where night-shift supervision did not meet family expectations. Taken together, the pattern suggests reasonably strong caregiving in many situations but variable performance depending on staffing and timing.

Dining and programming: Dining receives generally average marks. Some residents find the food acceptable, while others cite inconsistent temperature control and occasional dissatisfaction with menu options. The activity program is a relative strength: organized offerings such as bingo and movie nights, along with therapy-led programs and access to a functional gym, are appreciated. Several reviewers did request more outdoor activities and green space; the facility appears limited to a small courtyard without developed gardens.

Facilities and amenities: Physical spaces are frequently described as clean and recently remodeled, with well-maintained resident rooms and an effective physical-therapy room. Parking and location are convenient for visitors. The outdoor footprint is limited, which constrains gardening and extended outdoor programming options. Overall maintenance and cleanliness are generally favorable in the feedback.

Management and notable patterns: Administrative and office staff are often described as helpful, but reviewers also identify gaps in communication between staff and families, especially after clinical incidents or when care expectations are unclear. Several accounts point to uneven care quality across units and shifts and to lapses in clinical-incident response that raise safety concerns; these suggest the need for clearer escalation protocols and improved night-shift oversight. Prospective families should consider asking the facility about staffing ratios by shift, recent incident-response procedures, dining temperature controls, and opportunities for outdoor programming. Reviewing state inspection history and speaking directly with current residents and families can help clarify whether the strengths or the operational inconsistencies are most representative of day-to-day experience.

    About Preferred Care at Hamilton

Arcadia Nursing And Rehab is a nonprofit, family-run senior care community with 126 beds in a newly renovated, single-level building, where residents live in furnished private or semi-private rooms with private bathrooms, air conditioning, cable TV, telephone, kitchenettes, and Wi-Fi. The building's full-service dining rooms offer multiple nutritious entrees prepared to fit special diets, while daily schedules include community-sponsored activities, bingo, movie nights, music, and resident-run events, with outings and an active recreation program happening in bright indoor spaces, arts and activity rooms, and on outdoor garden paths. There's a beauty salon, a game room, a small library, a dining room, and relaxation areas like the fitness room, wellness spa, and sauna, all with a homelike and tastefully decorated atmosphere.

Arcadia Nursing And Rehab provides skilled nursing care, assisted living, memory care, and personal care, with specialized units and secure Alzheimer's and dementia care environments tailored for memory support, and the staff focuses on both medical and emotional needs. Individualized therapy plans help residents make steady, measurable progress, with programs in speech, occupational, and physical therapy, along with specialty options like a Congestive Heart Failure Program and a Comprehensive Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program. Residents get assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, medication management, diabetes diet, transferring, and move-in coordination, plus non-ambulatory care, wheelchair help, and hospice when needed. Subacute rehab for injuries or speech delays and recovery-oriented short-term stays are available too, with therapists and nurses working together in a multidisciplinary approach, including regular wellness checks and supervision around the clock, since there's 12-16 hour nursing and 24-hour care team presence.

Families can take short breaks using Arcadia's respite care, and the staff helps people find the right placement in nursing homes or other settings if needs change over time, and they'll even guide folks through the Medicare and Medicaid process - all the details about income limits, eligibility, and area agencies on aging, and there are resources for comparing nursing home ratings by state, costs, and explanations about assisted living. Arcadia also invests in caregiver and staff training, offering certification in Dementia & Alzheimer's Training, Senior Home Care Courses, and Residential Assisted Living Courses, with a focus on keeping everyone up to date and prepared.

The environment encourages both independence and dignity, with planned activities, exercise, social services, recreation therapy, a family-oriented philosophy, and a personalized, resident-centered approach. Housekeepers take care of laundry, room tidying, and sheets, making life maintenance-free, while the emergency alert and 24-hour call systems ensure safety, and transportation support helps get residents out for doctor's offices, errands, or trips. With so many services from meal preparation to special dietary restriction accommodations, and a broad range of healthcare support, Arcadia Nursing And Rehab works to fit each resident's unique needs and to give families knowledge, comfort, and peace of mind.
