    Clean compassionate staff and administration

I moved my parent here and have been very pleased: clean, spacious facility with friendly, compassionate staff and responsive administration - special thanks to social worker Leah, Nurse Ty and admin Mordy. Therapy and rehab are tailored and effective, activities are engaging, and rooms and meals are comfortable. I feel well cared for and would recommend this home.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews present a mixed picture. Many families and observers praised the clinical and admissions personnel for being kind, professional, and helpful; physical therapy and exercise programming, dietician access, private rooms, on-floor amenities, and outdoor seating/lobby areas were frequently noted as strengths. At the same time, a number of operational and facility-level weaknesses recur across accounts, producing inconsistencies in the resident experience.

Care and staff: Clinical caregivers—nurses, aides, and therapists—are commonly described as compassionate and professional. Admissions and liaison staff received positive mention for helping families navigate placement. However, reviewers also flagged persistent staffing challenges: high turnover and periods of understaffing appear to affect responsiveness. Several accounts describe delays in answering calls or attending to needs, and one family raised concerns following a resident's death that centered on communication and responsiveness. There are also reports that therapy continuity can lapse when insurance coverage changes, which points to gaps in care transition planning.

Dining and activities: The facility offers dietician consultation and a basic meal program with occasional specials; some reviewers found meals adequate. Conversely, others noted inconsistent meal quality and late service at times, and there are comments about restrictive snack/policy rules that families found confusing. Activity programming appears to be strongest around physical therapy, while broader social or recreational programming beyond PT is described as limited by some families.

Facilities and environment: Positive comments describe a fresh-smelling environment, clean lobby, private rooms, and on-floor visiting spaces. Yet reviewers also described variability in housekeeping and overall sanitation practices — with some rooms reportedly cleaned daily and others described as inconsistently maintained — and raised pest-control concerns in parts of the building. The physical plant is characterized as aged and in need of significant improvements. Noise around the nurses' station during late hours was also noted as a recurring nuisance for some residents and families.

Management and policies: Families appreciated individual staff members who went above and beyond and found admissions/liaison support valuable. At the same time, reviewers pointed to operational gaps that management should address: clearer communication channels and call-response protocols, improved staffing stability, consistent housekeeping standards, transparent visitation policies (especially during infection-control periods), and better planning for continuity of therapy when insurance circumstances change.

Recommendations for prospective families: Ask direct questions about current staffing levels and turnover, housekeeping schedules and pest-control measures, typical meal times and menu quality, the scope of social programming beyond therapy, policies for visitation during infection-control events, and how the facility manages therapy continuity when payer sources change. Request a tour of both common areas and resident rooms to assess the physical plant, and ask management for any current renovation or repair plans to address aging infrastructure.

About Wyndmoor Hills Health Care & Rehab Center

Wyndmoor Hills Health Care & Rehab Center works as a nursing home offering both short-term and long-term care, and people know it for its focus on sub-acute medical care and skilled rehabilitation. The facility has 77 private rooms, each with a private bath, private phone, flat-screen TV, and air conditioning, and all the rooms are set up so patients can recover in comfort and have privacy. They provide care to seniors who need high acuity nursing, physical therapy, wound healing, orthopedic, cardiac, and stroke recovery, and people who come from the hospital for short-term stays after surgeries or illness find rehab services here. Wyndmoor Hills accepts both Medicare and Medicaid, and it is managed by Barry Braunstein as part of Lme Family Holdings, operating as a for-profit LLC.

Meals include gourmet-style offerings and snacks, but the staff also takes care of special diets and handles laundry and housekeeping. There's a van service for medical appointments, barber and beauty services, as well as aromatherapy, hydrotherapy, and aroma relaxation, and the amenity package is rounded out with movie nights, recreational events, and fitness activities. Residents can spend time in the garden, walk on the outdoor paths, or relax in the spa, and there's a movie theater and a library too, plus arts and activity rooms. Kitchenettes, cable TV, high-speed internet, and furnishings come in every room, and the center has programs for COPD, stroke, and joint replacement recovery that use the latest clinical techniques. The staff stays on site around the clock and helps manage emergencies with an alert system, taking care of move-in coordination as well.

However, it's important to know Wyndmoor Hills has had its share of quality concerns. The facility holds a special focus candidate designation and has a higher-than-average nurse turnover rate at 60.6%. Nurse hours per resident each day are 3.19, which is below the state's average. Across inspections, the nursing home was cited for 69 total deficiencies, including four dealing with infection control, as well as deficiencies related to resident rights and maintaining a safe, clean environment. There have also been issues with how the facility used resources and managed administration. On average, about 68 residents stay here each day out of 77 certified beds. Wyndmoor Hills blends its personal care approach with specialized rehab and daily activities, but it's good to look at past reports and decide if the setting matches each person's needs and expectations.
