    Kind attentive staff, clean facility

I was very pleased with my loved one's stay. The staff - from CNAs and nurses to LVN Susan - were consistently kind, professional and attentive; the facility was spotless, and the garden and outdoor patio (plus the tea service) made visits pleasant. Therapy, activities and dietary needs were well handled, and I felt my family member was truly cared for and respected.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews describe a facility that delivers strong rehabilitation services and several examples of attentive, compassionate caregiving, but also shows important operational weaknesses. Many families and visitors praised the physical and occupational therapy teams, hardworking CNAs, and individual licensed nurses for effective rehabilitation work, warm interactions, and attention to dietary needs. The environment is frequently described as well maintained in terms of flooring and outdoor areas: the garden, patio and activities program are recurring strengths that support resident engagement and socialization.

At the same time, a pattern of staffing and operational challenges emerges. Multiple accounts describe inconsistent staffing levels that correlate with delayed responses to clinical needs, gaps in monitoring (including missed vitals and delayed symptom recognition), and delays in addressing medical issues. Several reviewers raised concerns following a resident's death and noted lapses in timeliness of care; these indicate weaknesses in clinical-monitoring protocols and escalation pathways that families should evaluate closely. There are also references to medication-management problems such as lost medication or tracking failures.

Housekeeping and ancillary services show mixed performance. Many reviewers noted overall cleanliness and regular mopping, but others identified sanitation concerns and inconsistent cleaning or laundry follow-through in certain areas. Ancillary amenities such as the beauty salon, transportation services, and hearing-aid repairs appear to be variable in availability and timeliness. Food and dietary accommodations are generally viewed positively, with specific praise for meal quality and responsiveness to dietary needs.

Communication and administrative practices are another recurring theme. Front-desk staff are often described as friendly and helpful, yet phone lines and information desks are sometimes unstaffed or difficult to reach, creating frustration for families seeking timely updates. Discharge timing and administrative coordination were cited as contentious in at least one case, suggesting the need for clearer discharge-planning processes and family communication protocols.

Safety and privacy concerns were mentioned in a limited number of accounts: reviewers noted situations where staff capacity limited their ability to respond to resident behavior or to maintain privacy during care activities. These highlight potential vulnerabilities in security, staff training for behavioral incidents, and dignity-preserving practices.

Practical advice for prospective residents and families: tour the therapy and dining areas, ask for current staffing ratios on the unit, request written policies on clinical monitoring and escalation, inquire about medication-tracking procedures, and verify availability and scheduling for ancillary services you consider important (salon, transportation, hearing-aid service). Observe cleanliness in common and resident areas during the visit, and clarify how the facility communicates with families, including phone coverage and discharge planning. Overall, the facility demonstrates meaningful clinical and social strengths but also has identifiable operational gaps that merit direct inquiry before placement.
