    Friendly staff, spotless, lively community

I live here and am very pleased overall. The staff are consistently friendly, caring, and attentive, and the community is spotless and bright with brand-new interiors and tasteful renovations underway. Dining is good with an alternative menu and a large, clean dining room; activities are lively and engaging-movie nights, a TV room, gym, and a big activity/game room-and the spacious courtyard/patio is well kept. It's well-run with a warm, family-like atmosphere; I would recommend it.

    About Savant of Norwalk

Savant of Norwalk is a senior living community with space for up to 80 residents, and it has different levels of care like independent living, assisted living, memory care, adult daycare, and even nursing home services for people age 60 and older, which means folks with all sorts of needs can call it home and get help right where they live, with personalized care plans that the staff works out together with residents and families to make sure everyone's getting the right amount of support whether it's help with medication, bathing, dressing, or eating. The apartments are roomy and private, with features like kitchenettes, Wi-Fi, cable TV, and emergency alert systems, and there are common spaces like a book library, movie theater, music lounge, salon, fitness center, beauty parlor, and even gardening areas and walking paths outdoors, so there's plenty to do if you want to get up and move around, see a movie, read books, or take care of the plants. The staff stays present day and night, including licensed nurses, and there's regular supervision, a 24-hour call system, and round-the-clock help if needed, even if someone has trouble walking or needs a wheelchair, plus help with moving to bed or the dining area, bathing, or incontinence - and every apartment gets housekeeping, linen, and maintenance service so folks don't have to worry about chores piling up. There's meal service in a restaurant-style dining room along with chef-prepared menus, and there's a focus on special diets like no salt or lower sugar for those who need it. There's laundry service, transportation for outings or appointments, and coordination with outside doctors to keep everything on track. Each week and month has different activities-like Bible study on Saturday mornings, group exercise, art classes, frequent outings, and special events like a BBQ for July 4th, dessert socials, and Mother's Day luncheons-plus the place is decorated for the seasons and holidays, like Christmas on the second floor and different events marked on the calendar, so folks know they'll have things to look forward to. There are plenty of chances to meet with others, whether it's in the music lounge, at lunch with mom, or just taking part in the daily schedule, and the overall sense is that the place tries hard to feel like a community, helping people keep up connections, comfort, and dignity as they age. The building and services handle most kinds of mobility challenges, from wheelchair access to non-ambulatory support, and Savant of Norwalk accepts long-term residents, with a license as a Residential Care Elderly facility through Norwalk Retirement Villa, LLC, but keeps clear that Medicare isn't accepted unless there's CMS certification. The staff makes a point to help folks live with purpose, with support for the mind, body, and spirit, and family members often say it brings them peace of mind knowing their loved ones are somewhere safe, familiar, and well-cared for, with plenty of routine, friendly faces, and a caring touch for life's changes.
