    Beautiful campus and caring staff

I moved my father here and was impressed by the beautifully manicured campus, spacious apartments at good value, and abundant amenities-pools, restaurants, golf course and nonstop activities. Xiomara, Bernice, Kaz, James and many others were caring, professional and went above and beyond, making the move stress-free and welcoming. The close-knit, faith-friendly community and responsive staff give me confidence he'll be very happy here; I recommend it to others.

    Summary of reviews

Good Samaritan Society - Kissimmee Village - Village West presents a mixed picture. The campus, grounds and amenities are frequently described as attractive and well maintained: landscaped common areas, walking routes, a waterfront gazebo, an on-site golf course, pool and multiple dining venues contribute to a resort-like environment. The community offers a continuum of living choices (independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and rehab), with notably large apartment layouts and a variety of social, religious and wellness activities that many residents find engaging.

Staff and daily services attract substantial positive commentary. Numerous reviews single out individual employees and departments for professionalism, warmth and effective move-in support; marketing and tour staff are repeatedly mentioned as knowledgeable and reassuring. Housekeeping, activity programming, therapy and social-work support are often cited as strengths. Many families describe personal responsiveness from frontline staff during routine needs and some clinical situations.

However, reviewers also describe operational weaknesses that merit careful consideration. Clinical processes show inconsistencies: examples include gaps in documentation, delayed or contested medication administration, and uneven discharge planning or follow-up arrangements. Relatedly, equipment availability and timely access to mobility aids and oxygen supplies have been problematic at times, which may affect residents with higher medical needs.

Emergency planning and facility resilience are recurring concerns. Multiple instances of storm-related flooding, wastewater issues and mold have been described, along with evacuation logistics that family members considered inadequate. These accounts point to vulnerabilities in moisture/wastewater management and in the community's emergency-evacuation procedures and communication protocols. Several reviews also describe lapses in timely family notification during critical events.

Management and operational consistency appear variable, particularly following ownership or organizational change. Reviewers note uneven responsiveness from leadership, inconsistent transportation schedules, slow or forgotten maintenance work orders, and occasional frustrations regarding billing, rent adjustments, or transparency about policies. Security and mail-handling were also raised as ongoing operational areas for improvement.

For prospective residents and families: this community offers strong amenities, active programming and many caring staff members, which can make it an appealing lifestyle choice for independent or active seniors. If higher-acuity care is anticipated, or if storm resilience and clear emergency procedures are priorities, families should investigate clinical protocols and facility preparedness carefully. Suggested questions include: current staffing ratios and how they fluctuate, medication administration and documentation policies, availability and maintenance procedures for medical equipment, details of evacuation plans and flood-mitigation measures, recent inspection reports, average maintenance response times, transportation schedules, and specifics about billing and rent policies. Gathering written policies and recent regulatory or inspection documentation can help balance the facility's attractive amenities against the operational risks described by families.

About Good Samaritan Society - Kissimmee Village West

Good Samaritan Society - Kissimmee Village - Village West sits on a large 425-acre campus in Kissimmee, Florida, along the banks of Shingle Creek, and the community is good for adults aged 55 and up who want many living and care choices, since you'll find independent living with apartments, duplexes, or senior homes, plus assisted living, memory care, long-term skilled nursing, men's behavioral care, and Huntington's disease care, all under one network that's part of the bigger Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society, so everything's connected for easier support. The big outdoor spaces, walking paths, and golf course, along with the heated indoor pool with aerobics, tennis courts, gym, pickleball, shuffleboard, pet park, and marina slips, mean people have some nice ways to stay active or relaxed, and you can walk to nearby shopping like the supermarket, which even has golf cart parking if folks prefer that way to get around and the property's got bus service for trips to grocery stores, too.

The gated community means added security, and there's a church, wellness center, salon, library, RV and boat storage, a community center, and pretty views, which makes the place feel more like a small town than a facility for seniors, so you won't feel hemmed in. Restaurant-style dining is provided in the common areas, and people can join unit tours during scheduled events or try out recreational activities, therapy options, or check out the support groups from wellness programs, since there's everything from music and massage therapy to wound care, intravenous therapy, and outpatient rehab if someone ends up needing it. People get care plans that fit their own health and wellness needs, and Good Samaritan Kissimmee Village makes sure people with Alzheimer's and dementia, as well as those who need respite care or home health, find the right options.

The community runs on values rooted in faith, respect, and dignity, and there's caregiver support, adult day services, child daycare, and connections for people looking for resources, so it's good for older folks or families who want stability without bright lights and noise. The grounds keep a secure, comfortable feel with 24-hour staff, and there's help with meals, housekeeping, and other daily needs, plus support for customer trust and retention, partly helped by the reputation management resources found on their blog, where they also talk about healthcare, social media, and business tips for other health and wellness groups. Reviews by folks who've been here so far praise the community, with two user reviews both giving 5 stars, and the place keeps regular hours weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., staying closed on weekends. The Village West part of the community, found at 4260 Village Drive, has an open house event on September 10, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m., where visitors can walk through and see the living spaces for themselves.
