I toured Savannah Cottage and was pleased - bright, homey rooms (some with golf-course views), secure locked doors, plenty of parking, and a small, family-like atmosphere. The staff were caring, knowledgeable and attentive (Alma, Lisa and Barbara really stood out), with strong memory-care training, on-site nurse/doctor access, therapy and salon services, and engaging activities. Meals are scratch-made and delicious (cookies included), communication and move-in coordination were easy, and rooms can be personalized to feel like home. I would recommend this compassionate, well-run memory-care option.

Summary of reviews
Savannah Cottage of Lakeland presents as a small, home‑style memory care community with strong strengths in person-centered caregiving, culinary offerings, and activity programming. Many families describe warm, compassionate caregivers, frequent staff continuity, and a high staff-to-resident ratio that supports individualized attention. The facility’s single-floor design, abundant natural light, outdoor courtyard, and on-site amenities such as a sensory room, salon, and therapy spaces contribute to a residential atmosphere intended for comfort and engagement.
Care quality is characterized by attentive direct care staff, with frequent mentions of long-tenured employees and staff who go beyond core duties to support residents’ quality of life. The community emphasizes memory-care programming and offers a varied activities calendar—book clubs, games, outings, and social events—that many families find beneficial. Culinary offerings are consistently highlighted as a positive feature; a chef-prepared approach with scratch-made items and pleasant dining routines is a commonly noted strength.
At the same time, several operational patterns recur across reviews and merit careful consideration. Staffing coverage appears uneven, particularly in evenings, nights, and weekends, and clinical coverage by licensed nurses or CNAs is limited outside weekday hours. Families have raised concerns tied to housekeeping and sanitation processes (including odor issues in some areas) and to medication, nutrition, and hydration oversight. There are also recurring notes about property-security controls and occasional losses of personal belongings, and some reviewers described disruption or uneven conditions during renovation activity.
Management and communications present a mixed picture. Many families praise accessible, communicative administrators and smooth move-in coordination, while others cite variability in administrative presence, phone responsiveness, and resolution of billing or refund disputes. Prospective residents and families should assess current leadership engagement and clarify contractual and billing policies during the tour.
For families considering Savannah Cottage of Lakeland, recommended due diligence includes an in-person visit during evenings or weekends to observe staffing levels and operations, questions about licensed-clinical coverage and medication/nutrition protocols, inspection of housekeeping and odour-control practices, review of personal-property and inventory policies, and clarification of billing/refund terms. When these operational points are addressed, the community’s strengths—compassionate staff, focused memory-care programming, strong culinary offerings, and a home-like environment—are frequently cited by families as delivering meaningful quality of life for residents.

About Savannah Cottage of Lakeland
Savannah Cottage of Lakeland sits in Lakeland, Florida, and stands as a senior living community that provides both assisted living and memory care for elderly residents. The facility offers private and semi-private studio apartments in a single-story memory care cottage, so it's easy to get around and there aren't any stairs or elevators to worry about. There's a gated courtyard out back where folks can sit outside safely, and the doors stay locked for extra security, which matters for people with memory loss. You'll find indoor and outdoor common areas for socializing, a recreation room for residents' activities, and intimate dining areas that keep things comfortable and friendly.
This place focuses on care for seniors with dementia and Alzheimer's, making sure to offer special activities and support services designed to give them the highest possible quality of life. The staff creates structured schedules with social, educational, and entertaining programs, and they work on personalized care plans for each resident. They offer help with daily needs like bathing or dressing and provide full-time access to caregivers, therapists, and medical staff including nurses and doctors on call, along with podiatrist and dentist visits for health support. There's even hospice, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy available, and they have one-on-one therapy when it's needed.
Savannah Cottage welcomes pets, so residents can bring their close companions, which helps many feel more at home. The environment is designed to be warm but secure, with wheelchair accessible showers and a smoke-free policy indoors for safety. They offer housecleaning and laundry services, and they take care of meals and snacks so you don't have to worry. Residents also have access to Wi-Fi and high-speed internet, and transportation services can take folks to appointments or errands. If someone needs short-term help, like after surgery or when family is away, the facility provides respite stays for various lengths of time, and their adult day care gives seniors a safe and stimulating setting for daytime support.
There's a provider profile available that details who runs the place, along with specific information about the facility, including addresses for easy reference. Savannah Cottage also gives a full legal action record showing any violations, fines, or legal issues, so families can review this information for peace of mind. There are beauty and barber services on-site, devotional services both at the facility and offsite, and the emergency power plan is set up in case of outages.
Savannah Cottage of Lakeland stands out by offering services tailored for seniors living with memory loss or who need help with daily activities, in a setting that aims to support aging in place, comfort, safety, and well-being every day.
