    Excellent care in small home

I'm so glad we found this small, clean, homey place. The staff are loving, well-trained (there's an RN on staff) and attentive - residents receive excellent personal care, nutritious homemade meals (Pauline is great), and respectful, friendly interaction. I feel my loved one is safe, happy, and well cared for here and would happily recommend this modest, caring home.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The facility is consistently described as a small, family-scale residential care home with a strong emphasis on individualized caregiving and a homelike atmosphere. Reviews emphasize consistent warmth and attentiveness from caregivers, with multiple references to licensed nursing presence and an on-site registered nurse. Families and visitors generally describe staff interactions as respectful and accommodating, and several notes point to a sense of safety and good oversight of personal care tasks.

Care and staffing: Staffing quality is the dominant positive theme. Caregivers are characterized as caring, well trained, and attentive to residents' personal needs, including grooming and daily assistance. The presence of personnel with nursing credentials and an RN on staff suggests clinical oversight beyond basic aide support; reviewers communicated confidence in clinical responsiveness and in the staff’s ability to manage routine health needs. Management is portrayed as accessible and helpful, which supports the small-home, hands-on care model.

Dining and activities: Dining is another commonly praised area: meals are described as wholesome, made from scratch, and nutritious, with specific appreciation for individual cooks. Social opportunities are reported as good for the facility’s size — residents are able to interact with one another and a resident with cognitive impairment reportedly adapted to the setting without major difficulty. That pattern suggests the environment can support social engagement and basic activity-level programming consistent with a small residential home rather than a larger campus.

Facilities and accessibility: The physical environment is described as clean and orderly but modest in scope. The small scale contributes to a homelike feel but also constrains amenities and program variety compared with larger facilities. One specific operational limitation noted is restroom door accessibility for walkers and some mobility devices; this points to occasional mobility- and access-related constraints in the building layout. Prospective residents who rely on larger mobility equipment should confirm dimensions and accessibility during a tour.

Notable patterns and recommendations: The dominant patterns are reliable, compassionate care, consistent cleanliness, and home-cooked meals delivered in a small, intimate setting. Trade-offs appear to be limited facility amenities and some accessibility constraints due to the modest, small-home footprint. For families seeking a close-knit, well-supervised residential care option with personalized attention and strong caregiver relationships, this facility aligns well with those priorities. Those requiring extensive on-site programming, higher-end amenities, or broad accessibility for larger mobility devices should verify specific accommodations before committing.

    About Queen of Angels

Queen of Angels has different levels of care, including Assisted Living, Memory Care for seniors with Alzheimer's or dementia, Respite Care for short term needs, and a small residential care home for up to six residents, which some people find gives it a cozy, family feeling, and the staff try to make everyone comfortable and safe with 24-hour supervision, medication management, and help with bathing, dressing, walking, transfers, toileting, and eating, and you'll also find support for non-ambulatory residents who need extra physical help or assistance moving around. In some assisted living apartments, residents may have a kitchenette and private living spaces or bedrooms, while others have furnished rooms that come with telephones for easy communication, and each one has emergency alert systems for safety. Queen of Angels provides personal laundry, housekeeping, and housecleaning, and move-in coordination services so it's easier to settle in, and there's also organized transportation for doctor appointments, shopping trips, local events, and religious services, or residents may use parking and city bus access if they still get around on their own. Residents eat together in shared dining rooms, where staff prepare meals and offer special diets, including options for allergies, diabetes, and vegetarian needs, and you'll see common areas inside and outside, walking paths, gardens, and sometimes scheduled movie nights, entertainment, and group activities, which help with socializing and staying sharp. The caregiving staff is trained to handle different types of care and always tries to keep the place clean, safe, and friendly, and they work with outside healthcare providers when someone needs more medical attention. Queen of Angels offers spiritual services and support onsite, and the community says residents are welcome to join devotional events, and spiritual care is an important part of daily life here for those who want it. There's help available for daily activities, personal care, and managing medicines, with memory care plans and cognitive health programs for people with memory issues, and respite care gives family caregivers a break or helps after surgery or illness, from short visits up to a few weeks. The staff tries to meet each person's unique needs and they offer a range of services and amenities, from private baths to indoor and outdoor community areas. They make an effort to run organized schedules of social, educational, and entertainment activities so no one feels alone and everyone can join in if they want.
