    Bright renovated hotel feel concerns

I toured/moved a loved one here and overall liked the bright, renovated old-hotel feel, active social calendar (bingo, movies, library, salon, outings), courtyard/theater and generally caring, professional staff (Elizabeth, Nazim, Charlene often praised) - move-in was smooth and pricing felt reasonable. Major caveats: ongoing construction, frequent staff turnover/short-staffing, spotty communication/billing, and recurring cleanliness/infestation and safety complaints that you should verify. Visit in person and confirm current management, staffing levels and sanitation before deciding.

    About Bayside Terrace

Bayside Terrace has a mix of care options, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care, and it's a place where people can get the help they need while staying as active and independent as possible, and folks who live there can choose from different rooms-both studios and one-bedrooms-with things like big windows, private bathrooms, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning, plus many rooms have wheelchair accessible showers so getting around is easier. The staff is known for being caring and helpful, and they're around 24 hours a day to support residents, whether it's help with daily needs, medication, or doing things like laundry, housekeeping, or offering rides to the store or doctor through their transportation service, and residents can feel safe with nurses and aides present, a call system in each room, and visiting specialists like podiatrists, therapists, and nurses coming in regularly to check on folks. The Memory Care program includes special care plans and activities focused on memory, like reminiscence therapy and cognitive games, and there's trained staff who know how to help people living with dementia, so families can feel more at ease.

Bayside Terrace has plenty of things to do, since there's a full-time activities director planning everything from arts and crafts to music, movie nights, fitness classes, outings in the community, chaplain talks in the chapel, and they even put together social and educational events to keep people interested and involved, and there's always activities on the calendar whether it's inside in a movie theater, game room, pool and spa, or computer area, or outside with the walking paths, enclosed courtyard, patio, or common areas for picnics and cookouts in the fresh air. Dining here feels comfortable and social, with restaurant-style meals that use fresh ingredients, and menus with choices to fit different diets, and residents can eat privately with family or join everyone else in the dining room, plus snacks are always available, and the food is well-liked by people living there. There's also a beauty and barber shop onsite, covered parking for people who drive, spaces to read in the library, relax, or get together with others, and the community welcomes different payment options, including long-term care insurance, VA benefits, Medicaid Waivers, and more, making it possible for folks with different needs and budgets to find a place.

There's room for up to 162 residents, and the building itself is multi-story, comfortable, and feels homelike thanks to things like spacious, clean rooms, a warm color scheme, large windows that let in lots of light, and staff that try to make everyone feel at home, and since there's a mix of independent and care-focused living options, people with different needs-whether they just want a lifestyle with less worry or need more hands-on help-can settle in and know they'll be looked after with respect and kindness. The place has earned a good score from residents and staff reviews, and they offer short-term respite stays as well as longer-term living, so families can take a break when needed. All in all, Bayside Terrace tries to give residents a supportive, safe place to call home, with the people, services, and activities needed to stay active, comfortable, and connected.
