    Compassionate homey care with activities

I placed my mother-in-law here and I'm very pleased. The staff are loving and treat residents like family, the owner is personally involved, and the care feels dedicated and compassionate. Rooms are comfortable and homey with garden access, meals feel home-cooked, and she enjoys dining, bingo and movies - clean, friendly, and highly recommended.

    Summary of reviews

Patrick Manor presents a mixed profile: many families describe a small, home-like facility with strong hands-on caregiving, while others raise significant operational and communication concerns. On the positive side, reviewers frequently highlight compassionate staff who create a family atmosphere, owner involvement in day-to-day care, and clinically relevant supports such as around-the-clock hospice availability. Residents and families also praise the comfortable rooms, garden and outdoor access, home-cooked meals, and an active program of activities including bingo, movies, and reading resources. Several accounts describe visibly improved resident mood and health after admission, and staff are often characterized as caring and attentive.

Care quality appears to be a strength in many cases: dedicated employees and personal attention are repeatedly noted, and the facility is capable of providing continuous hospice support. That said, there is a clear pattern of concerns about staff communication and conduct in some interactions. Families who raised issues described poor tone, disrespectful remarks, and instances where privacy expectations were not met. Those concerns suggest gaps in staff training on family communication and in policies that protect resident privacy and dignity, particularly during end-of-life situations.

Dining and activities are consistently cited as positive features. Meals are described as home-cooked and well-liked by many residents; dining, social programs, and organized activities appear to support engagement and a pleasant daily routine. Facility cleanliness and a welcoming interior are also common compliments, contributing to the overall home-like ambiance. Physically, the campus is small and cozy, with two-person room options available; this scale supports a residential feel but also limits capacity.

Management and administrative patterns are more mixed. Owner involvement is a double-edged theme: some families appreciate the personal attention from ownership, while others report management interference or inconsistent oversight. Financial and contractual issues are a recurrent operational concern — notably an asserted nonrefundable community fee and general opacity around billing — which may affect families' satisfaction and perceived value. There are also assertions about unclear handling of personal belongings and limited transparency about resident whereabouts in at least one case, which raises questions about inventory and communication processes.

Taken together, Patrick Manor may be a strong option for families seeking a small, home-like setting with engaged staff and hospice capability, but prospective residents should perform focused due diligence. Recommended pre-admission steps include asking for written policies on privacy and family access, documenting billing and refund terms, clarifying how personal property is tracked and returned, requesting examples of staff-training practices on communication, and arranging a tour (or an alternative virtual walkthrough) that includes living spaces and privacy arrangements. These steps can help families assess whether the facility’s strengths align with their priorities and whether the identified operational risks have been addressed to their satisfaction.

    About Patrick Manor Inc

Patrick Manor Inc is a licensed senior living facility that offers several types of care, including assisted living, memory care, independent living, nursing homes, and continuing care retirement community services, so you see a real mix of support depending on what someone needs, and when you look at the place you'll find rooms that come in studio, single-room, and two-bedroom layouts, with private bathrooms and some with kitchenettes, which is convenient for folks who like their own space, and the assisted living side allows older adults to have independence but still get help with daily things if needed, because they've got personal care assistants, walking and wheelchair help, and transportation services, so there's help but not too much hovering.

For people who need memory care, like those with dementia or Alzheimer's, the facility has secure units with alert systems for residents who might try to leave, trained staff, and a safe outdoor area, which is calming for many, and there's around-the-clock awake staff so there's always someone watching out, plus the place has a sprinkler system and other safety features, and I did notice they have support for special diets, a station for hydration, and three home-cooked meals a day with evening snacks, so nutrition gets good attention.

Patrick Manor Inc tries to make it comfortable with central heat and air conditioning, daily housekeeping, laundry for personal clothing, and services like medication supervision, so day-to-day life stays tidy and safe, and there's an activities calendar full of social events, arts and crafts, movies in their movie theater, recreation, learning programs, and outings, and if someone needs a haircut, there's a beauty shop or salon on site. The place has Wi-Fi, cable TV, guest parking, fitness center, washers and dryers, and a nice dining room for meals.

The staff aims to be caring and pays attention to each person, often working with families to keep everyone in the loop, and the facility gives personal attention so that folks can keep as much independence as they can, which seems important to them, and there's always a focus on comfort, safety, and companionship, so families can feel involved and supported too. There are 30 rooms for assisted living, with memory care units set up as studios, and the atmosphere tries to be home-like and peaceful, so residents feel at ease in the space.
