    Friendly staff, activities, clean facility

I'm very comfortable leaving my mother here - the staff are friendly, caring and responsive, and Sharon, the activity director, is energetic and wonderful. There are daily activities, biweekly outings and weekly Walmart trips; the facility is attractive, clean, linens fresh, and the food is good and plentiful. Visitors and family are pleased, and I would gladly recommend this caring, well-run place.

    Summary of reviews

Summers Landing Senior Living elicits a mixed set of impressions. Positive comments emphasize a generally well-kept facility, a robust activities program, and an appetizing, ample dining service. Several families specifically praised direct-care staff for polite, hands-on assistance with bathing and daily needs, and the activity leadership is frequently described as energetic and effective at engaging residents with outings and regular events. At the same time, the reviews include serious concerns about clinical outcomes, administrative processes, and site management that prospective families should evaluate carefully.

Care quality and clinical oversight present a mixed picture. Some families conveyed confidence in day-to-day personal care, noting attentive assistance and clean rooms and linens. Other accounts raise significant concerns about the facility’s clinical monitoring and emergency-response practices following acute medical events. These concerns are linked to perceived delays in recognition or escalation of changes in resident condition and to limited communication with families during and after such events. Given the gravity of these observations, prospective residents and families should ask for the facility’s clinical staffing ratios, emergency protocols, and recent incident/inspection records.

Staffing and interpersonal interactions are similarly variable. Many reviewers praised individual staff members as friendly, caring, and effective—particularly the activity director and certain front-line caregivers—creating a welcoming environment for both residents and visitors. Conversely, other reviews describe slow response times, inconsistent staff experience, and moments of unhelpful or nonchalant behavior. This suggests variability in training, shift coverage, or staff continuity that can affect the resident experience depending on timing and personnel.

Dining and activities are among the stronger areas identified. Multiple comments highlight plentiful, appealing meals and an active programming schedule that includes daily activities, biweekly outings, and routine shopping trips. The activity director is repeatedly singled out as a key asset who improves quality of life and family visitation experiences.

Facility condition and safety show mixed signals. The facility is described as attractive and generally clean by several families, but there are also mentions of pest-control concerns and at least one incident involving personal property theft that families felt was not well investigated. These items point to the need for clearer security and environmental-control practices. Prospective families should request documentation of pest-control measures, recent inspection reports, and the facility’s protocol for responding to theft or security incidents.

Management, billing, and communication surfaced as distinct areas for caution. Reviews reference billing disputes, overdue invoices, unreturned calls and emails, and management turnover; some families described formal complaints to oversight bodies. Taken together, these patterns indicate inconsistent follow-through on administrative matters and family communication. Before committing, families may wish to speak directly with current leadership about complaint procedures, billing practices, and how the facility communicates during clinical incidents.

Bottom line: Summers Landing offers clear strengths in dining, activities, and individual caregivers who can provide a warm, engaging environment. However, there are recurring concerns about clinical monitoring, staff consistency, pest control, incident-investigation practices, and administrative communication. Families should weigh the facility’s programmatic positives against these operational concerns and pursue targeted questions and documentation about clinical protocols, staffing stability, safety measures, and billing/complaint processes during their evaluation.

    About Summers Landing Senior Living

Summers Landing Senior Living sits in Atlanta, Georgia, and offers a comfortable, welcoming place for older adults who want different levels of care, from independent living to assisted living and memory care, and this place puts a lot of value on privacy, with each resident having private rooms, including studio apartments, which really helps folks feel at home. Residents get meals, housekeeping, laundry and dry cleaning, and room service, with all these services working together with detailed help for things like eating, bathing, dressing, or taking medication. There's always a focus on everyone being as independent as possible, and skilled nursing staff offer extra support, including hospice and respite care when that's needed, and there are special services for Alzheimer's care right there in the community. People can bring some pets, which makes the place feel more like a real home, and those who live here can join activities like arts and crafts, music with the resident musical group, game nights, and various gatherings in the indoor common spaces. The community keeps residents active with both on-site and out-of-the-building outings, and offers free transportation, on-site parking, and plenty of ways for family and friends to visit. Some areas accept only female residents, but the rest of the community includes both men and women. Devotional and religious services happen on site, and folks can get haircuts or a shave right in the building. Everything is wired up with free high-speed WiFi and cable, and many studio apartments are set up with these comforts already in place. The grounds are secured for safety, especially for those who need memory care. Summers Landing is recognized worldwide for making senior care feel elegant but still like a home, and the all-inclusive pricing means it's easier to plan for the future without surprises, and while nobody can promise perfection, this community works hard to create a safe, active, and supportive place for older people who want their privacy, dignity, and independence respected.
