    Spotless facility and compassionate staff

I was very satisfied with my stay at Signature Healthcare of Savannah. The building and rooms were spotless and attractive, staff were cheerful, compassionate and well trained (ICARE/JCAHO - ask for Ms. Roberts), and I received attentive nursing and excellent therapy that led to a successful recovery. Meals were nutritious, family accommodations were thoughtful (I had a single room during COVID isolation), and the whole team felt professional yet warm. Grateful for the caring, hardworking staff - I recommend this facility.

    Summary of reviews

The aggregated reviews for Savannah Post Acute describe a highly polarized set of experiences. Many families and residents praise the facility's rehabilitation capabilities, citing effective physical and occupational therapy, respiratory programs, and measurable recovery outcomes. Positive comments also highlight compassionate clinicians, attentive reception and admissions staff, specialized wound-care teams, Joint Commission accreditation, and facility-level I CARE certification and training initiatives. Several reviewers described a family-like atmosphere, engaging activities, and specific administrative responsiveness during some stays.

Contrasting those positive accounts, a substantial portion of feedback raises operational concerns that recur across shifts and service areas. Staffing levels and consistency vary by shift, with particular complaints about slower response and limited coverage at night. Reviewers describe inconsistent staff conduct and communication tone, which family members associate with delays in attending to residents' needs. There are specific, serious allegations regarding medication controls and potential diversion; these claims, combined with reports of medication-administration irregularities, point to perceived gaps in medication-management oversight.

Dining and nutrition feedback is mixed. While dietary staff are credited at times for preparing nutritious meals and accommodating families, recurring issues include limited menu variety, repetitive preparations, and failures to accommodate stated preferences. Therapy and rehabilitation are frequently cited as a strength; however, a number of families questioned individual therapy plans or progress reporting, suggesting variability in goal-setting and therapy follow-through.

Facility- and safety-related concerns appear across several reviews. Sanitation and odor concerns in common spaces and some resident rooms are reported alongside inconsistent housekeeping responsiveness. Equipment availability and maintenance gaps were noted (including lack of functional lifts and other assistive devices), which ties into reports of problematic transfer practices and fall-prevention processes. Additional safety items include perceived lapses in property security and occasional external-access issues.

Communication, management, and culture are areas of clear divergence. Some reviewers describe engaged administrators, routine care-team meetings, and transparent care planning. Others report difficulty reaching families by phone, delays in discharge coordination, low staff morale, and perceptions of leadership disengagement following administrative changes. A small number of reviews reference regulatory attention or investigations and serious individual allegations (including concerns following a resident's death and allegations of theft); these accounts indicate the need for careful follow-up by families and regulators where appropriate.

In sum, Savannah Post Acute demonstrates strengths in rehabilitation services, certain clinical teams, and moments of strong administrative support. At the same time, persistent operational weaknesses—staffing variability, night-shift responsiveness, sanitation and equipment maintenance, medication-management controls, and inconsistent family communication—create a variable care experience. Prospective residents and families should consider an in-person tour, ask targeted questions about staffing patterns, medication-safety protocols, lift and transfer equipment availability, wound-care continuity, housekeeping schedules, and how the facility handles complaints and discharge planning before making placement decisions.
