    Compassionate skilled care and activities

I'm very pleased with the compassionate, professional nursing and CNA team-attentive, personalized, around-the-clock care with proactive family updates. Therapy (PT/OT) and restorative programs are phenomenal, activities (bingo, lunch groups, outings) keep residents engaged, meals offer choices, and the building is very clean with friendly housekeeping. The administration and social workers are caring and inclusive; my family felt involved and grateful for the nurturing, competent staff.

    Summary of reviews

Forest View Rehabilitation and Nursing Center elicits a mixed but consistent pattern: many reviews highlight individual staff members and clinical teams who provide compassionate, hands-on care, while operational and management issues create variability in day-to-day resident experience. Clinical strengths are most evident in rehabilitation and therapy services, wound care, and responsive diagnostic workโ€‘ups; several accounts note measurable functional improvements and dedicated therapists. Social work and some nursing staff are also frequently described as supportive and family-oriented, and activity staff often run diverse, engaging programs that promote socialization.

At the same time, systemic weaknesses affect reliability. Staffing levels and coverage are cited as inconsistent, with specific concerns about evenings, nights and weekends; this is linked to delayed medication administration, slower responses to call lights, and gaps in supervision for residents who require close monitoring. Reviewers describe instances that indicate shortcomings in medication-administration processes and in fall-prevention or transfer-safety practices, suggesting these are operational areas to evaluate carefully.

Dining and housekeeping receive mixed feedback. Positive comments acknowledge flexible options and helpful kitchen staff, but many reviewers report inconsistent meal quality, cold or small portions, and limited dietary satisfaction for residents with special needs. Cleanliness impressions vary by unit and shift: some families describe a clean, odor-controlled environment and attentive housekeeping, while others raise sanitation and pest-control concerns, occasional supply shortages (sheets, gowns, towels), and maintenance problems such as plumbing or elevator faults.

Management and administration are a recurrent source of concern. Reviews reference administrative turnover, corporate-level decisions that appear to affect staffing and supplies, and communication breakdowns with families or powers of attorney. These managerial factors appear to amplify the operational inconsistencies noted above. Conversely, individual leaders and department-level staff are sometimes identified as strengths when they engage effectively with families and coordinate care.

For prospective residents and families: the facility demonstrates clear clinical and rehabilitative capabilities with many staff who are skilled and compassionate, particularly in therapy and social-services domains. However, variability in staffing, meal service, facility maintenance, and administrative responsiveness produces uneven experiences. Visitors should prioritize speaking with the facility about current staffing levels and coverage patterns, medicationโ€‘administration and fallโ€‘prevention protocols, recent pestโ€‘control and sanitation measures, and how management is addressing any recent operational deficiencies before making placement decisions.
